Summary: This story goes along with Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated. After the events of the series, the gang remains close friends. Fred and Daphne continue dating, and live together in a small house in Crystal Cove. One night, Daphne has a nightmare and Fred comforts her.

After the events of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and even Scooby-Doo graduated from Crystal Cove High and went on to Miskatonic University. Fred and Daphne commuted from their house in Crystal Cove, and Shaggy, Velma, and Scooby commuted from their apartment in Crystal Cove. Shaggy and Velma even started dating again (with Scooby's blessing, of course).

One Friday night after a long day at Darrow University and a long evening at the Mystery Incorporated office, Fred Jones and his girlfriend Daphne Blake return to their home.

"Jeepers, I'm exhausted," yawned Daphne.

"Why don't you hop in the shower, Daph?" said Fred. "I'll get your favorite pajamas ready and will start a fire to get the bed nice and cozy."

"Oh, Freddie," sighed Daphne. "You always know just what I love."

Fred gave Daphne a kiss on the cheek, and Daphne entered the bathroom in their bedroom to take a shower.

While in the shower, Daphne thought about the time that Mystery Incorporated was stranded in the Burlington Library. With a shiver running down her spine, Daphne remembered her experience with terror wood, and when she hallucinated that a Gorgon attacked her in the shower. Ever since, Daphne couldn't bring herself to take a shower without Fred being home. The attack was pure nightmare fuel…

After she turned the water off, Daphne wrapped herself in a soft bathrobe and opened the bathroom door to her and Fred's bedroom to see one of Fred's blue undershirts – Daphne's favorite thing to sleep in – on their bed, and Fred reading A History of Traps in bed.

"Are you all warm now?" teased Fred as he placed his book down.

"Much better now, thank you Freddie", replied Daphne as she buttoned the last button of Fred's shirt. It may be 6 sizes too big for her thanks to Fred's muscles, but it always kept Daphne so cozy. Daphne crawled into bed and curled up next to Fred, who was wearing nothing more than his boxer shorts.

"Thank you for staying awake while I was in the shower," said Daphne. "I still get scared ever since the terror wood incident."

"You're safe here with me, Daph," soothed Fred. "I'll never let anything happen to you."

Fred and Daphne both soon fell asleep. At around 3:00 in the morning, Fred was awoken by a scream of pure horror. Instinctively, Fred shot up and looked at Daphne to see her screaming, shaking, and covered in sweat. Immediately, Fred knew that she was having a terrible nightmare.

"Daphne!" yelled Fred. "Daph, honey, wake up! You're having a nightmare!"

Daphne suddenly opened her eyes and shot up, screaming, "Fred! Freddie! Where are you!?"

Fred gently took Daphne bridal-style in his arms and rocked her back and forth. "Shh, Daphne. I'm right here," whispered Fred in an effort to calm Daphne down. "Easy Daph, you just had a bad dream. That's all."

Daphne was sobbing at this point. In between sobs, Daphne said, "Oh Freddie, it was awful! I was in the shower, and the Gorgon came back! I was screaming as loud as I could for you, but no sound would come out!"

"Shh, Daphne, Shh," soothed Fred while rubbing Daphne's back until her sobs bubbled down into small hiccups. "It was a nightmare, you're safe now. Get some rest now, Daph."

Fred laid down, slowly leading Daphne down with him, so that Daphne's head was on Fred's buff chest. Fred continued to stroke Daphne's hair when he heard her whisper, "Thank you, Freddie. I love you."

"I love you, too, Daph,"
