Summary: During a mission, important things are always on someone's mind.... (sasusaku pairing)
He awoke.
The subtle sounds of the night his companion as his body took its restricted nights sleep. The forest was calm, the rushing stream, meters away, lending its own comforting voice to the cool night air. His Sharingan over took his eyes as he scanned their surroundings in the darkness, able to locate his teammates concealed among the tall, heavily bushed trees. Accounting them all, his Sharingan withdrew, returning to the icy onyx eyes, one of the many traits that had defined the Uchiha clan. He settled back down on the solid branch, his senses still alert.
Sleep would no longer seize him for the night, his internal clock informing him of the sunrise still three hours away. Sleep was not a luxury he took while on a mission. Even with its success in hand, he was cautious.
They were still a day away from Konoha..... a day away from home...... a flash of brilliant green eyes pierced his mind.... Still a day away from her.
It had been a week since he had awoken without her warmth pressing against him. Memories still fresh in his mind, a soft soundless sigh forming in his mind, but never reaching his lips. He could still feel the cool sheets beneath him, could still smell her sweet scent, like roses and Lavender, mixed with something spicy and entirely unique to the woman herself.
His hands were still haunted with the feel of the gossamer black fabric, he smiled slightly remembering slowly pushing the thin straps from her delicate shoulders, watching as her flesh blushed prettily beneath his hungry gaze. The sweet salty taste of her skin, soft beneath his lips, hands. The fragile shaking of her frame as she arched against him in pleasure as she delighted in being loved by his hands, lips, tongue. His hands clinched tightly, hunger burning through him. His body lingered to feel satin smooth limbs and warm breath brushing his chest once more.
And in a day he would be back where he belonged.
He couldn't stay away much longer, not without her, never had his solitude felt more like a prison then at this moment. She was his. Had been his since perhaps the first moment they had ever seen each other, had ever spoken to each all those years ago.
But perhaps what she hadn't realized, was on that cold night ten years ago, she had carved a little place in his heart for herself, which now encompassed all. His mind filled with images of her warmth, her beauty, lying before him, his for the taking. She had given him a life to live, a purpose to follow, a new road to lead. She was not only his friend, not only his wife, but also his savior.
In a day he could be home.
In a day he could be with her.
His pink haired jounin.
Who, without her, his world would seize to exist.
