Silver Screen Fox

An NCIS Fic.

Tony never realized how entirely fitting Abby's nickname for Gibbs was. At least, not until they began to date.

The Silver Fox.

It had a distinguished quality to it; sophisticated. It suggested that the owner of such a nickname deserved respect, because not only was he older, and thus wise, but was also still endowed with exceptionally good looks.

This fit Gibbs to a T.

And while spending a quiet Friday night curled up on his couch, Tony discovered that he had the perfect way to make Gibbs' nickname even more representative to their personal relationship. Not that there was anything against Abby's original idea, it was simply that Tony wanted something between Gibbs and himself, and Abby's moniker seemed like a great starting point.

They were watching an old classic. Well, old to Gibbs, older to Tony.

Casablanca. There was something about a great older movie that got Tony excited; ladies in their dainty dresses, swooning and fawning over dashing gentlemen, who themselves dressed to the nines.

But as the movie neared the end, Tony zeroed in on Humphrey Bogart. The man was dashing, he'd give him that. But more than that he was a Hollywood legend, star of the silver screen. He was a hero.

Gibbs was hero, and not just to Tony. He helped anyone in trouble, no matter the cost. And Gibbs was undoubtedly a legend, if only in law enforcement and government circles.

Why shouldn't Tony compare him to the big stars of the Hollywood classics?

Tony could easily seem the pair of them as the stars of some major production. Gibbs the gallant lead, and Tony, the woman. Okay so that analogy wasn't the best, but if he were to make a modern day film in the style of the classics, then sure Tony could fill the role of the lead's lover. He was already Gibbs' second on and off the job, always had his six, and never let him do anything incredibly stupid. Wasn't that essentially the job description of every right hand man/lover/side-kick?

Tony snuggled deeper into Gibbs' embrace as the credits began to role. He gazed up at Gibbs and was met with eyes shut tight in a contented sleep.

Ah, well, Gibbs may not be able to sit through all of Tony's movies without nodding off, but Tony didn't care.

He finally had a private nickname for Gibbs, even if he would never actually tell him.

His silver screen fox.

Fitting.
