There were five when they first set out.
The boy determined to save his love;
That determination eventually lead to doom.
The aforementioned love was asleep;
Epitome of selflessness, caused grief when desperation took hold.
The warrior's reluctance was true at first;
It became a façade when he finally sought to protect his companions.
The liar held magic, a secret to all;
That magic haunted him his entire life.
The last was their bond;
It was their hope, their comforter, yet at the end it failed to keep them together.
They travelled together, saw different sights and paradise.
But separation, even death, was never far behind.
Pain and anguish left their calling card soon enough;
One was lost and one was grieved. One no longer saw hope and one was changed.
And again, the last saw all but could do nothing.
The light came when another joined them, the original copy of that was lost;
Yet darkness loomed again when rejection occurred and only four remained.
Now the four strived to return the two who had strayed;
And the mystery following them was solved in the process.
The truth revealed meant only more sorrow;
But it had to be told--it could be concealed no longer.
Ice and snow;
Cold and unforgiving.
Five became four;
Will the four become three?
