Behind Blues' Eye

I can't forgive him.
And yet… I can't blame him or not forgive him…
God, I hate my life. I almost wish he had killed me along with my brothers…

I have one weird family. My half brother, who's dating my sister, gets killed by my other, younger half brother, who also kills my sister and my brother. Then he sends his… um… son/brother to kill my third half brother… and that's not even in order! … My head hurts…

Then again, it always does. After all, Dr. Light's hologram can only do so much to repair me. I'm still partially blind… Not that it matters much. I'm so old and outdated; I'm surprised they even hired me… Good thing they avoid background checks.
Wouldn't it be a shock to X if he learned he had an older brother? Much more, one from before the First Fall of Robotics, as it is now called. Also known as the Cataclysm, or the first end of the world, for eccentrics.
Oh yes. That would be a fun reunion.

Of course, he'd want to know why I never told him, and acted like I never knew him. This may go ok. Unless he asked about his family. What am I supposed to say? "Sorry X, you can't meet your family because they were ruthlessly massacred by your best friend,"?
… If he believed me, he'd be heartbroken.

Zero, of course, doesn't remember a thing. I made sure of that when I sealed him away, letting him live, even after all he had done…
I try not to live with regrets, but it's hard to remember my family without regretting saving Zero…
I can't forget, so I can't forgive. And now I know it wasn't Zero's fault… He was caught unawares, just like the rest of us.
What should I do?

Signing his original name, Prothomus stood, sighing, and headed to his job at Maverick Hunters HQ. He left his radio on, and as he shut the door, he caught the last verse of a song.

"And no one knows what it's like
To be the bad man.
To be the sad man.
Behind Blues' eye.
