"Derek you are going and that is final!" George Venturi yelled at his oldest son Derek Venturi. "I've warned you and warned you that if you messed with Casey one more time you would be going to war!"

"Why so that I can be killed and you wont have to deal with me?!" Derek argued back. Casey McDonald Nora Venturi – McDonald's oldest daughter, who had been just listening and watching with the rest of the family in shock, finally spoke.

"George I'm sure Derek's learned his lesson." She spoke as calmly as she could.

"I promise you if you just give me one more chance that-" Derek spoke only to be cut off by George.

"Derek your plane leaves at ten tomorrow night." He said before he left. As soon as Derek heard his door slam he looked at everyone and left to pack. And for the first time in his life he cried. Derek heard a barely audible knock on his door. He quickly dried his tears and tried to make it look like he hadn't been crying.

"Derek? Can I come in?" he heard Casey ask.

"Yeah sure." Was all he said. When she walked in he was shocked at her appearance, she had been crying. She slowly sat down on his bed and looked down.

"Are you okay?" she asked and looked up at him only to have him look away.

"Fine." He said and angrily stuffed some clothes in his bag. Casey who had been watching him flinched.

"I'm so sorry!" she said before she started balling. She brought her legs up to her chest as if she would disappear. For the first time in his life Derek went over and hugged Casey and whispered soothing words in her hair.

"It's ok I'll get through it."Was the last thing she heard and he said before they fell asleep.
