Fifteen

Chapter 1

Scene 1- Sam and Carly are at their lockers

Carly: Oh my god, Sam. I'm so tired.

Sam: That's what hangovers do.

Carly covers Sam's mouth.

Carly: Do you have to broadcast it? We shouldn't have even been at that party!

Sam: Carly over half of the people in the school were at the party! They probably remember that we were there. Will you please be quiet? I have a headache!

Carly (lowers voice): Sorry. One good thing came out of it, though. Jake kissed me.

Sam: That's great, but he kissed Valerie and about 12 other girls at that party. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'd be shocked if anything else happened.

Jake walks up.

Jake: Hey, Sam. Carly, wanna get some breakfast?

Carly and Sam exchange shocked glances.

Carly: I-I-Sure, Jake!

As they walk off, Freddie approaches Sam, looking like he hasn't gotten any sleep.

Freddie: Hey.

Sam (not looking at him): Oh, hi, Freddie…

Freddie: That's the last time I let you two girls talk me into going to a party. Hey, where's Carly?

Sam: She and Jake are getting something to eat.

Freddie: Ewww! I don't know how she can eat; she had more to drink than both of us did.

Sam: Did you have trouble with your mom when you got back?

Freddie: No. I just took a shower and washed the clothes that had beer all over them. I can barely remember what happened Saturday night.

They both start blushing and turn away from each other.

Freddie: Uh, Sam?

Sam (nervous): Yeah?

Freddie: Do you... well...

Scene 2- Flashback--Jake's house

There's a lot of music and dozens of people. Everyone is dancing and drinking. Sam has a drink in her hand and she starts kissing Freddie. This continues for a few minutes, and they wander off into a bedroom.

The next morning, a little before dawn, they wake up. They're cuddled together, naked under the covers. Sam wakes up, covers her mouth and shakes Freddie awake. They scramble around the room, searching for clothes.

Scene 3- Sam's locker

Sam: Um, yeah, I remember what happened.

Freddie: Sam, did wweee...

Sam: I think so.

Freddie: I'm really sorry. It was the alcohol.

Sam: Same here. Freddie, I don't want this to ruin our friendship, even though we fight all the time.

Freddie: Hey, it doesn't have to. Does Carly know?

Sam: No.

Freddie: Then can we please pretend it never happened.

Sam (hesitant): I guess so. I won't tell anyone.

Freddie: Me either.

Sam yawns.

Sam: And I'm never going to another party again.

Freddie: Me neither! I think we're idiots...

Sam smiles and Freddie smiles back. The bell rings and they head to class.
