Prologue

2080, Unknown

She observed the team hard at work, bent cautiously over worn out computers. Her team, she chided herself gently, still angry with their decision to put her in charge.

But you have the most experience, her subconscious argued back, You know how this ends.

That didn't mean she liked it.

There were ten of them; three observationists, three time travellers, three computer geeks and her. The Support Units, four of them, stood completely quiet, unmoving, the only sign of life the rapid blink of their eyelids as they spoke to each other through low-res blutooth connection. There was only one female Support Unit as they worked at a less able capacity compared to male ones. However, it was extremely useful to have one to distract suspicious people from the socially awkward and often-needing-help time travellers.

It was, without a doubt, the biggest team in the whole of time.

Not for the first time, she wondered just how many teams there were. She knew, finally, who was in charge, but other than that she was clueless. Were there some as far back as, say, the Victorian Period? They certainly had electricity then, so it would be possible. Looking, staring, deep into the sloshing and freezing water of the time machine before her brought all of these thoughts back to mind

The silence was unnerving, but peaceful compared to the hustle and bustle of New York outside.

Suddenly, the steel shutter to the secluded base rattled open, followed by the frantic running of footsteps as her best friend rocketed in.

"It's happening!" she shouted, "Ma-...Fiesta! Fiesta, Waldestein's been murdered! The time waves are coming through!" They certainly were. Through the shutter behind her, everyone in the arch could plainly see the dark ripples threatening to swallow them up as they rolled out from the horizon. Luckily, of course, the time bubble kept them safe from the time disturbances.

The one lucky thing was the fact that Waldestein must have been murdered after he invented his time machine. But before he presented it to everyone. Otherwise, the whole base would have been swallowed up no matter what. You couldn't have a time agency with no time travel.

She, Fiesta, smiled discreetly from her vantage point, silently one again applauding her colleague for the nifty code name she had come up with that held significance only to the two of them.

"Let's get this started." she muttered to herself, giving the room a quick once over. She was one of the only people who knew exactly how the coming situation would end; who would die, who would survive, who would be lost forever. The world and lives like putty in her hands.

She cleared her throat and called the attention of everyone in the room. "You know what to do!" she addressed them, "Send the tachyon signal to 2001!"

Then to herself, "I hope they're ready.

Hello and welcome to my debut novel on FanFiction! I hope you liked it, and there is more to come as I am a fairly regular updater! I warn you, I just finished the Doomsday Code so this is set some time in the future after that, but without any of the other books happening! :)

What do you guys think? Please review! It's probably not very good, and I know that its not very long, but it's the Prologue so all the other chapters will be REALLY long! :)

And I LOVE Constructive criticism like telling me about any spelling mistakes or how I could improve so please tell me if you can help!

Thnx, ClaraOswald4Eva, (Rebecca)
