"And now I pronounce you as husband and wife." He put down his good book and watched happily as the happy couple before him gazed into each other's eyes and kissed each other deeply, the symbol of their love sealed for all to witness. The witnesses all clapped and cheered for the couple as the newlyweds walked back the way they came down the aisle, both of them interacting with their peeps and exchanging smiles and laughter and handshakes and happy blessings.

Not Saint Walker. The priest himself was one of the few remaining witnesses as he watched the crowd disperse behind the bride and groom. His part was done.

He was glad he could become part of a holy union between two people who loved each other very much, but a tinge of sadness wavered his heart a little. After everyone had left, he allowed himself to frown in sadness as the past's pain came back to haunt him temporarily. The past involving his own late wife, Quanta.

He missed her dearly. Her, their children and his father. There wasn't a day that went by when he didn't think about them. He did manage to accept his losses and move on with his life, but that didn't mean he couldn't allow himself to feel melancholy moments from time to time.

He felt a pat on his shoulder. Surprised at who could still be present in the room, he turned to see who it was. It was his friend, the human Star Sapphire named Carol Ferris. She was smiling at him in kind understanding. He smiled back in thanks, feeling hope for the future-both for the newlyweds and his own-fill his body.

A/N: I found another one of my old drabbles I did as a thirty-day challenge and I wanted to post it because I can LOL. My particular version of St. Walker's backstory comes from the comics, but he has the characteristics of the animated show! Enjoy! :)
