A Year In Books (2013)

TeamCato4ever

2013,

What a year for books it has been.

So many beautiful plotlines and unexpected twists,

To the discovery of new, and many famous kids.

One, that everyone most eagerly waited,

Allegiant, by Veronica Roth, which surprisingly, everyone hated.
The ending, so tragic that many book lovers cried,

Everyone was convinced, that John Green was the guide.

The House of Hades, what a long wait that was,

Oh, Rick Riordan, why must that book be the cause?

Of all my feels, and crying and sadness burning me to the core,

And destroyed my life, leaving me begging for more.

Champion. Thank you Marie Lu for filling us with joy,

Giving us two books in one year, for all of us to enjoy.

Prodigy was amazing, Champion was even better,

I loved those books and before I knew it, I finished the last chapter.

Clockwork Princess, the last of the amazing series,

And the undeniable love for Will and Jem, that varies,

From boy to boy, they both are so perfect,

And the spectacular end to the trilogy, so good, that the wait was worth it.

Kiera Cass', The Elite. One of the best covers I have ever seen,

All of us hating the other girls who came between,

America and Maxon, who are the perfect two,

And yet no one liked Aspen, even though he was there too.

Requiem. The one everyone was waiting for,

The ending, so excited became we, and yet we were greeted by something very poor.

Disappointment was washed apon all of us,

As we stared at the last line, which we used to excitedly fuss.

Although the Fault In Our Stars was published last year,

Already being made into a movie, as everyone eagerly waits for the premiere.

This book was the sole reason I cried every night,

The ending we all wanted John Green to rewrite.

Francis Lawrence, oh how we all adore you,

Making the best film adaptation, and all the other directors, out of the picture, you blew.

We wish that all directors would take your lead,

The book, they will actually read.

This year, quite a lot of movies came out,

Catching Fire, Sea of Monsters, Beautiful Creatures, they all made us freak-out.

The Host and City of Bones, we loved, just to name a couple more,

And Jamie Campbell Bower, who we al adore.

As we see our favourite books getting translated into movies,

Excitement and eagerness threaten to burst as we watch the videos they tease.

The Maze Runner, Divergent, Vampire Academy,

And The Fault In Our Stars, we are so thrilled to see, to put it simply.

2013 was an awesome year, filled with ups and downs,

Twists and turns that spun out heads round.

Wait, shall we as we sit for books in bookstores,

And at least we all know that we are not alone, that of us there are more.
