This was for the DG forum's OSS Drabble Challenge, Round III. It had to be a story of 300 words or less using a sentence from the OSS thread. I used Narcissa Raie's sentence ' Draco tried his very best to track the cycle of photosynthesis in the Abyssinian shrivelfig for his detention with Professor Sprout, but it was becoming increasingly difficult, due to the red-headed distraction in a pineapple-printed bikini, sunning near the Lake.' - Post #1038.
Draco tried his very best to track the cycle of photosynthesis in the Abyssinian shrivelfig for his detention with Professor Sprout, but it was becoming increasingly difficult, due to the red-headed distraction in a pineapple-printed bikini, sunning near the Lake.
He frowned. Did the Weasley girl really think that the pineapples were a good look? Knowing her, she probably did.
It was stuffy in the green house and he decided that it was time for a short break. Sprout had disappeared a while ago, telling him to stay there until she returned. Draco had noticed the blush in her cheeks and had seen Flitwick waiting nervously by the cabbage patch. Being the clever boy he was, he had put two and two together. She wouldn't be back here for a while.
He slipped out of the greenhouse and made his way down to the lake. The Weasley girl was still there and she hadn't spotted him yet.
He was about to jump out at her and surprise her. Perhaps it would embarrass her. She was distracting him, after all.
Ginny sat up and turned around. She didn't see surprised to see the pale boy at all.
"I wondered when you'd come over, Malfoy," she said.
Draco was at loss for words. He hadn't expected her to look that... Well, his trousers were feeling tighter already.
"Weasley," he said, keeping his voice steady. "I was just taking a walk."
With that, he turned and left, heading back to the greenhouse. Pineapples were rather attractive, after all.
