After receiving medical care for his eyes Kakyoin was advised to rest. Upon drifting off to sleep he found himself awakened by screams. He jumped from the hospital bed instinctively on edge in case it was a Stand attack. As he was about to go investigate Kakyoin paused. I'm not supposed to be able to see right now, how is this happening? He thought. Inspite of this observation it was obvious he could see his surroundings just fine.
His moment of confusion was interrupted by someone beginning to break down the door. With his focus concentrated on the door the hospital room's details began to blur and smudge. Kakyoin stumbled when he tried to take a step in the direction of the door; he had somehow been thrown off balance. The door was broken down and the person emerged through it. That person was Joseph Joestar.
"Mr. Joestar? What are you doing here-" Kakyoin's question was cut off when Joseph decided to attack him with Hermit Purple. Kakyoin dodged neatly and continued to ask questions despite Joseph's silence. Eventually Kakyoin was forced to defeat him.
This began a long string of battles that all occurred inside his hospital room. One after another his friends, and past foes, came barreling through the door looking to fight. The more confused Kakyoin became the moe blurred his surroundings, but he figured out that if he focused so to would his room. In the end he gave up questioning why and concentrated on surviving the encounters.
That was until Jotaro appeared standing in the doorway. Instantly Kakyoin's body froze causing him to be stuck watching as Star Platinum was summoned. Oh God please...don't make me fight him, he thought desperately. As the fights had dragged on Kakyoin's emotions had come close to their breaking point. This could prove to be the one fight that broke him.
"Jotaro please...," Kakyoin's voice drifted off faintly. Star Platinum raised its fist. The expression on Jotaro's face remained as vacant as it ever had.
Just as the fist began to fly Kakyoin's vision seemed to break like a mirror, cracks spreading out from the edges inward. A scream erupted from his throat as he could feel himself spiraling downwards into the unknown. Fresh pain from the wounds on his eyes issued as he could hear the sound of unearthly laughter. Kakyoin landed with a thud on something solid the thought of What is going on? being the only one in his mind.
Feeling blood drip down from his face, Kakyoin was forced to look up at a strange silhouette. He thought he could make out something glittering in the black haze that had taken over his sight. The glittering thing on the silhouette was about where the ears would be if it was a person. Before Kakyoin could distinguish anymore his body gave a jerk and he awoke in the real world.
Sweating, he felt around his hospital bed and sighed heavily with relief. Just a nightmare. I haven't had one since Death 13. I suppose it was foolish to think I would never have one again, Kakyoin concluded.
