Chapter 12;
Meilin announced they where at the heart of the Evertree. They could all feel the presence of the wrym but only Meilin could see the wyrm. Meilin called the mighty panda out of dormant state to help Connor. Meilin could see the wyrm in Connor twitching at his neck. Apparently Connor couldn't feel a thing which was good. Both boys where in some kind of trance. Meilin could hear metal clashing against other metals and distant screams. Meilin knew the wyrm was losing because it kept retreating to the egg like shape. She knew what she had to do. In her mind she shouted to the great beasts "NOW!" as she pressed a button like rock. The ground shook and changed to creat a pathway to the surface. Connor and Takoda stared at her helplessly. " Here is the plan, the tunnel will take us to the surface. Keep your spirit animals out. Connor first then Takoda and then me. There is a battle going on up there so weapons out. Now GO!" she half roared. As soon as Takoda was out of sight Meilin cut her self and smeared the blood on the wyrm then left.
