I probably should wait on finishing my other stories before I do ANOTHER
one, but I don't wanna. ;-_- Anyway, I hope you've all been liking my other
ones and enjoy this one equally. ^-^ Anyway, enjoy! (Wait, I already said
that...) By the way, this is not like a present day story. Maybe around the
Victorian century, or something. Like when they had Little Women. Around
that timeline. Yah.

"Did you hear?" asked Souta. Kagome looked up from her breakfast of grits and blinked. She could not possibly know what her brother was talking about, but forced herself to pay attention.
"About what," she asked, staring at the food and moving it around with her spoon.
"The murderer!" Souta explained, swinging his spoon around, causing it to fling pieces of grits everywhere. Kagome wiped away one that had hit her in the forehead.
"There are so many of them Souta, I try not to keep track of them all," she said, spooning up a mouthful and forcing in down. She blinked again.
"Well, he's going around KILLING people!" said Souta, returning to concentrating somewhat to eating his food.
"Well," said Kagome, "I suppose that's what murderers do. Wouldn't you agree, mother?"
...
There was a long pause. Her mother seemed to not be paying attention. She looked up from her own meal, a bowl of pears.
"Hmm?" she asked a blank look on her face.
"The murderer!" said Souta, waving his arms around. Kagome stood only half of her grits eaten. She looked towards her mother.
"I'm done," she said.
Kagome was not required to go to school, her family being so rich. That and the fact that most girls were just plain not required. But she did anyway. She wanted to be educated at her fullest.
Everyday, she met her friend Sango at the oak tree midway between the local school and her house. They would walk together until they reached the facility, then go their separate ways. Sango was older then her and the school had more then one class, unlike many of the other schools that were for the public.
But she had another friend to talk to in the classroom, so she supposed it was all right.
"Hey," said Sango upon her arrival, "Did you hear about the murder? He's like the brother of some guy at our school!" Her cheeks were flushed with excitement.
"No," said Kagome, "But it's so nice to see that you're so excited that someone is out there killing helpless innocents, seeing that your father is the head of the police department and all."
Sango rolled her eyes at Kagome's sarcasm and dry humor.
"Who's he the brother of, anyway?" asked Kagome as they began to walk towards the direction of the school.
"Dunno," said Sango, "just some guy."
"Nice to see that you have all the facts, too."
"Shut up."
"Make me."
"Maybe I will."
"And Maybe you won't..."
The girls laughed their way to school.
