The world… a birdcage that locks us from escape… from exploring the truth… and deceiving us from knowing reality from fantasy… This is the world we are living in. A world not only inhabited by humans… But also Ghouls… Throughout history… ghouls have consumed human meat as it is the only suitable nourishment a ghoul can receive. Anything else and it would be rejected immediately from the ghoul's body… as it could lead to the ghoul losing their strength. Ghouls also have been noted to consume only one human corpse per month to satisfy their hunger but outliers do exist. Due to the misconception that all ghouls are malignant to society, some humans have taken a stance towards the elimination of ghouls through the creation of anti-ghoul organizations… such as the CCG.
However… this is not just a story about the conflict of ghouls and the CCG… this story is much more than that… this is the story… of the secrets of the world… one that I uncovered… during my time as the One-Eyed King… A story that was originally sworn to secrecy due to the controversial ideas… a journey… or if I may say in your terms… a fanfiction… A journey which opened my eyes to worlds that I have not dreamt of… and the shocking mystery that enshrouds the understanding of reality and fiction… The Truth will not always be pleasant… however there is one thing to be known… "You are not alone…"
