"What?"

"You heard what I said! You take the fruit, put it on the porch and run away."

Peridot Looked at Amethyst's confident smirk. They were sitting outside on a cool night; Steven was asleep, Garnet was, wherever Garnet disappears to, and Pearl had gone to see Greg about getting a bed for the barn.

"So the humans, come out onto their domicile archways, and?" Peridot arched an eyebrow.

"Augh!" yelled Amethyst. "They see the fruit with googly eyes and they're all like, 'Wow! What?'"

"Why would anybody waist time with such a frivolous activity?"

"Trust me Peri, humans do this all the time. If you want to understand earth you have to do this!"

Peridot paused for a moment.

"Why do they play with fruit?"

Amethyst dragged her hand down her face. "They prank each other! There isn't always fruit involved."

"…"

"What?"

"What if, the residence of Beach City hate me for doing this?"

Amethyst smiled gleefully. "That's the best part! They have no idea you do it!"

"Ohhhh," said Peridot understandingly. "Alright, I will partake in this 'prank'"

"Yay-yah! P-dot and Amethyst gonna prank some suckers!" Proclaimed Amethyst.

"Why this house?" Peridot asked quizzically.

"This is Mayor Dewey's house. He's like, "the man" around here," said Amethyst smugly.

Peridot eyed the rather large house. "Why does it matter if he is male?"

"Not the man like, a guy. 'The Man, like the big cheese in charge."

Peridot stared blankly at Amethyst.

"He's an authority figure."

"Why would we anger a figure of authority?" shouted a panicked Peridot.

"I though you would love this, since you stood up to Yellow Diamond and all," Amethyst said slyly.

"Ugh." Peridot averted her gaze to the sky. "Don't remind me."

"Are you doing this or not?"

"Fine," sighed Peridot. "Let's get this over with."

They crouched down so they wouldn't be seen through the windows while they walked to the porch. There were stairs leading up to the door, which had thick hedge-like plants on both side of the doorway.

As soon as they got to the top of the stairs Amethyst sprang into action. She quickly arranged the fruit so that the googly eyes they glued on were all looking towards the door. As soon as that was over she banged on the door and yanked Peridot's arm, pulling her behind the right hedge. A moment later the door opened.

"Hellooo-what?"

Mayor Dewey looked down, eyed the fruit, poked it with the toe of his shoe, and looked left and right. He then turned around and walked inside murmuring something about darn kids.

As soon as he was gone Amethyst burst into laughter.

"Amethyst! What if he comes back outside?" pleaded Peridot.

She honestly didn't get what was so funny. The human had walked out, and then walked back in.

"C'mon! Let's go," giggled Amethyst.

She took Peridot's hand and started leading her back to the barn.

"Log date: 7 16 5. Amethyst convinced me to assist her in a human tradition known as 'prank.' I still do not understand the purpose of the activity, but Amethyst says I'll get it eventually."

"Peridot, Crystal Gem, out."
