So in an alternate universe (which, of course, for the people living in it, is not at all an alternate universe but merely their universe which is neither here nor there but an interesting side-note nonetheless) Abed Nadir and Annie Edison are engaged. The pair was discussing their wedding (Annie wanted it in June as it was traditional but Abed thought it too cliche - the debate had been ongoing for some time) when a clatter in their kitchen stopped the argument.
"Go see what it is. I'll...I'll be right behind you." Annie said nervously. She hung onto his arm as they crept into the kitchen.
Their apartment was cozy, movie posters adorned the walls and one was even signed by Clint Eastwood (not even a movie he was in - Abed had bumped into the actor after purchasing a poster for Powerpuff Girls for Annie and so across Blossom's forehead was Clint Eastwood's signature) and they had a few paintings from their friend Britta. There were two bedrooms, one for the happy couple and another for any guests that may stop by. It had previously been Troy's, but he had moved out after Annie and Abed had announced their engagement.
The apartment also had a small living room with a large tv and extensive film collection. It was, all in all, a nice apartment, especially considering the location. There was even a large window that would have had a gorgeous view of Los Angeles, had it not been for the building twenty feet away, with an advert for Hawthorne Wipes smack dab in the middle of the building wall.
All of this about the apartment did not matter to the intruders in the kitchen however. They were not there to steal the movie posters or to defile the Hawthorne Wipes ad (although that did happen surprisingly often - someone from the apartment above continually threw paint from their window onto the ad). Instead, the intruders were there to steal something far more valuable. They were there to steal Annie and Abed's lives.
The clatter in the kitchen was caused by Annie and Abed. Not the Annie and Abed native to that universe obviously, but the pair that escaped a darker place. This Annie and Abed were barely friends, after a few mishaps while building the contraption that brought them across the universe. The clatter had been caused by Annie bumping into a rack of dirty dishes, which fell to the floor very loudly. As she picked the dishes up, Annie had to swallow a shriek that arose when she saw a platter identical to one her grandmother had given her in their original timeline.
"Ho-ly crap." Annie said as she stood up and found herself and two Abeds staring at her. "It worked."

a/n: I will find a less confusing way to differentiate between the pairs, I swear. Also, I think this will be a bit like Lost in that I will have the storyline of them in this alternate timeline and then another of how they ended up there (I hope it makes sense...Yikes.)
