Chapter one: The rescue party
The sirens were wailing, nearby houses were erupting in flame. People were screaming as they ran to the shelters. The smell of burnt flesh crept up her nose.
Amii Constance Smith, wake up and stop that screaming!
Amii stared at her mother wild-eyed. She couldn't move. Fear consumed her. Her dream had become reality.
Her mother took hold of her arm and pushed her out the bed. " Run to the basement and get the case of food, Hurry!" Amii's mother's tone was desperate.
The sirens wailed on as she ran to do her mothers bidding. Her two little brothers were running to the shelter with her mother.
As she opened the basements outside door she heard her mother scream; a blast of heat forced her into the basement. The dark surrounded her as she pushed on the door frantically. The door was hot to the touch and the air was heavy. It would not budge.
"Oh god help me." She whispered her eyes filled with tears and she screamed "somebody, anybody HELP ME!

It had been 17 years to the day of Aragorns coronation. Legolas was walking along one of the Mirkwood paths with Gandalf. Suddenly Gandalf stopped. A whisper filled the air "help me". Gandalf whispered a few unintelligible words, and the world went white.
After a while it got dark, but Legolas's eyes picked out a shape on the ground near them. A woman, and not breathing at that. The air was hot and it was hard to breathe but Gandalf whispered again and they were back in Mirkwood.
Legolas frowned at the woman-child he held. She was breathing but only just.
Gandalf quickly gave him orders " I shall go and get the healers." "I believe you can handle her if she wakes." He left after Legolas nodded.

Amii sat up, oh my head hurts. Where am I?
A hand clasped her shoulder making her lie back down, with a yelp she fought its grip.
"Calm down!" "I won't hurt you, but if you don't lie still you'll… Amii gasped as pain lanced up her side.
"I tried to tell you." Amii saw a man with long blonde hair step into her vision, and fainted again.
