Okay, I know this isn't an awesome start, but I have great plans for this. Not the longest or best first chapter, but please R&R.....

Baby, you know that I miss you, I just wanna kiss you, but I can't right now and ba-

I groaned and opened my ringing cellphone.

"Hello?" I got out sleepily.

"I'm sorry Pudge! I can't hold it in any longer!" Lara sobbed horribly, making my eyes flash open.

"Do you know what time it is?" I asked, checking my cellphone clock.

It showed 2:47AM. This wasn't like Lara at all.

"I know, but this is important!" She said between breaths.

"What could be so important that you have to wake me up at two in the morning?"

"It's.....it's about Alaska."

My body tensed at her name. Alaska's car accident happened about one hundred seventy-two days ago, I haven't forgotten anything. How she just deserted us.

"You still there?" Lara asked, concerned by my quietness.

"What? What about her?"

"She told me not to tell anybody,"She sobbed harder.

"WHAT IS IT?" I asked impatiently.

"She...she's not dead."

My breathing stopped. Not dead? Is that possible?

"Wh- How?" By now I was pacing around the room.

"Well," Lara sighed deeply, "Yes, she was in the accident. She had a drug that slowed her blood pulse, to create the illusion that she was no longer alive. But before they could do an autopsy, she escaped. That's the real reason she had a closed casket at her funeral. Her father hadn't known, he didn't want to see his dead baby girl."

"Why didn't the hospital report her body missing?"

"They didn't want their hospital's reputation shattered, all part of the plan."

"Why are you barely telling me this?" I groaned.

"Because, she's in trouble!"

"How do you know this?"

"We've been talking back and forth from each other, she hadn't told me where she was, and we haven't talked for a week! She usually calls everyday, but no calls! The last time we talked She hadn't been thinking straight, She did something, and she was crying horribly. She said she needed help, She said she can't do this on her own"

"Well....what is that supposed to mean!?!" I asked desperately, greatly confused.

"I. Don't. Know! Why do you think I'm calling you?"

"Alaska was always mysterious," I chucked.

"This is no fucking a laughing matter Pudge!"

"Your right, I'm sorry."

"God Pudge, I'm so scared for her right now."

"How have Y'all been communicating?" I asked.

"She uses a payphone."

"Do you think you can track down exactly where that call came from?"

"Yeah, of course."

"Great, I'll get a hold of the Colonel later, and we'll plan a way."

"Thanks Pudge, and please hurry! I don't know what's going on, but I know it can't be safe," Lara said, genuinely concerned.

"Okay, bye."

"Bye."

I laid back on my bed and finally thought like a sane person. Where was Alaska? What could have happened? And more importantly, why hadn't she told me anything about her plan? Her plan to live? Suddenly, something clicked? Is this what she meant by, to be continued?
