"What the hell was that?" Lauren said, pushing Joey out the pub, "Would you like to explain why in the two minutes I was gone, you managed to start a fight with my best friend's boyfriend?"
"Babe..."
"No, you don't get to just babe me, Joey. What just bloody happened in there?" She sat, sitting on the bench in the middle of the Square.
"He found out about the kiss with Whitney" he shrugged "Guess he doesn't like me that much now" he said with a smirk. "It's seriously not a big deal babe."
"Not a big deal?" she rolled her eyes at him and started muttering "How did he even find out? God, this is just what we need. Another reason for people to stare at us." He reached out to grab her arm but she moved it out of the way. "I should probably check on Whit, make sure she's okay"
He scoffed "Check she's okay? Because she cares about your feelings so much right?" he rolled his eyes "She told Tyler, Lauren. She told him, because I told her to stop with the shitty looks and to support you, or I'd tell him about the kiss"
Lauren groaned "Of course you did."
"I was trying to look out for you Lauren" he protested.
"By emotionally blackmailing my best friend?" she sighed, groaning. Looks like her relationship with Joey was going to lose her all of her best friends at this rate "Please tell me you didn't start the fight though Joey."
He scoffed at her "No the muppet was the first to swing" he let out a laugh "And missed".
"But you decided to retaliate"
He rolled his eyes. "You didn't hear what he said Lauren. I'd do it again, but actually get a hit in next time" He pulled her closer to him. "I won't just take it Lauren." He shrugged, not sorry at all for his behaviour, he hadn't done anything wrong. "Always going to fight for ya babe" he said with a smirk, knowing she was more annoyed than angry.
She smiled at him "yeah?" he nodded "I don't care what they think, yeah. Couldn't give two shits about what any of them think to be honest babe." He tucked her hair behind her ear "As long as it don't affect you." She looked up at him, smiling. She wasn't happy about the way he dealt with it but his intentions were for her, again. "When it affects you, or I think it will, we have a problem. And I'll deal with it" She let out a laugh "By fighting?" he laughed too "It's worked before" he said with a smirk.
She rolled her eyes, he could be so cocky sometimes and she told him often which he usually just laughed at. "But we good?" he said tipping her chin, to make her look at him. "You done being mad?"
"Yeah we're good" she smiled "Still going to make you apologise though."
He groaned but agreed "Fine whatever. If it'll make you happy, it's done" he said standing up, pulling her off the bench and into his arms.
She beamed at him; their relationship was at the moment surviving the road bumps their life kept throwing at them. "I think you owe me a take-away tonight, having got us thrown out of the Vic." She said with a smirk.
He dramatically rolled his eyes and sighed "Chinese good?" she nodded. "I'll meet you after work yeah? And you can tell me about your day at college." He said, remembering she'd been at college all day.
She nodded and leaned into him, him hugging her tightly. "Love you" she mumbled into his neck. "Love you too." He kissed her, but she pulled away before it could get heated. "Work, baby, you gotta go work" he kissed her again, but nodded. "Meet you at mine or yours?"
She hmm'd "Mine. And you can stay tonight yeah?" he nodded, and she leaned in for one more kiss before pulling away, calling goodbye over her shoulder as they went in their separate directions for a few hours.
