Winter's P.O.V.
I had decided to get the surgery. Cinder asked me if I was ready for something like that. Does she know me?
I didn't tell Jacin.
He was going to find out like everyone else was, when I came out of it.
I was getting my Bioelectricity Power Blocker, thing.
The walls would stop bleeding.
I would not be made of snow and ice.
I would be normal.
Jacin's P.O.V.
Cinder found me in my quarters, just resting and scrolling through the net. She barged in on me.
"We have a surprise for you," she said, dragging me off the bed and pulling me to the door.
"What is it?" I asked.
Cinder rolled her eyes. "If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it."
I just shook my head.
"We need to go pick up a few more people."
"Ok, whatever," I said. I would find out eventually.
First, we stopped by Scarlet's room. She grabbed her ever present hoodie and followed us to Wolf and Thorne's shared room.
Wolf answered the door with a whole tomato in his one hand, and a game controller in the other. We announced our intentions and Thorne came out too.
Last, we went to go get Cress. Scarlet helped her finish braiding her hair, and then we left.
"Aren't we missing someone?" I asked.
"We're going to pick her up right now."
Winter's P.O.V.
I came out of surgery a little loopy.
The doctors said it would wear off in a little while.
It took 10 minutes.
It seemed like 10 hours.
I couldn't wait to see Jacin. He didn't even know I wanted to get it.
When I was cleared to leave, my hands started to shake. I walked out to the place where Cinder had said to meet her and everyone else.
I was glancing at the walls the whole way there, worried.
Until I saw Jacin.
He was talking to Thorne, his back away from me.
I caught Thorne's eye and he motioned to me. "There she is," he announced.
Six pairs of eyes turned to face me.
I could barely get the words out.
"The walls aren't bleeding anymore." I whispered.
The whole group, minus Cinder gasped. They all knew what that meant.
Jacin ran over to me and embraced me.
And I was happy to admit, that was when the tears came.
Jacin's P.O.V.
And as hard as it is to admit, that's when the tears came.
