Everything. I had tried everything. Bribery. Blackmail. More bribery and blackmail. Even a bit of compassion. This... Thing. Just couldn't be broken. Although I knew it was him. But I couldn't prove it. Fionna's help was out of the question, she was visiting LSP. And Cake hadn't treated me the same since... The incident. It was up to me now. Why I couldn't go right up to him and blame him? I didn't know. He'd probably say I was "making a big deal out of nothing" just because he won't admit it...
I found it at the end of my bed. How that wad got it there without waking me was impressive. Leaving it there would have been a good decision. It was in his favourite sickly colour. 'Dear friend [erm, friend?], you are invited to...' I scrunched it up and chucked it out of the window. Maybe I'd crash his party. Sure, I'd been invited, but I could decline... Catch him off guard... and force him to admit it! Yes. Of all the things I could have had to do... Crashing his party was perfect.
No one saw. I knew that as a fact. I'd been half drunk, so I didn't completely remember. He probably was drunk too. I mean, his actions hardly fitted his personality. That moment...
I showed up to his party in my food-stained Wizard Battle sweatshirt and jeans which have long since seen a washing machine. Bed head. The things that I know ticked him off. Perfect. And none of that hideous colour he worships. Taking the stage with a microphone, he began a speech. After three and a half seconds of what I can promise would have been the most boring minutes of everyone's lives (his speeches are notorious), I ran to the front and grabbed the mike off him. He stared at me expectantly with mock surprise. I half-yelled into the microphone. "Marshall Lee! Just admit you kissed me!" Ignoring the shocked faces of the shocked crowd, he floated over and sucked some red from my cheek. "Whatever you say Bubba."
