Kurt stepped out of the house tentatively, frowning as the wind picked up. He made his way out to his car, constantly grabbing at the ends of his scarf to keep them nearby. He gave a soft shiver as he closed his car door, immediately cranking it up and turning the heat on.
Hey, I'm on my way to school now but I woke up a little early, so I'm stopping by the Lima Bean to get coffee. Want your usual? -K
He sent the text message and smiled, tucking his phone back into his pocket and buckling his seat belt before pulling out onto the street. He felt his phone buzz in his pocket.
Good morning, beautiful. Coffee sounds great. I've got a bit of a head cold. -B
A few minutes later, he pulled into the parking lot of the Lima Bean and got out, darting inside and checking his text messages. He smiled and placed their order, handing the barista exact change. "It's a windy one today," the barista said, her eyes flickering up to Kurt's hair. He nodded his head in agreement.
Exactly seven minutes later, Kurt left the Lima Bean with two steaming cups of coffee. The drive to school was short, so he didn't have to worry about being late. He pulled into his usual parking spot and smiled at the little Ford Focus parked two spots down, a distinct Warblers sticker embellishing the back bumper. He grabbed his messenger bag and the coffee and headed inside, wind whipping his scarf around.
Once inside, he quickly went to his locker, knowing that Blaine would be waiting for him. Sure enough, Blaine was leaning against the lockers, bag on the floor as he was tapping away on his phone. He looked up when he heard footsteps and grinned, cheeks still a little red from the cold outside. "Good morning," he said happily, eyes flickering up to Kurt's hair. "Oh, honey."
Kurt handed Blaine his coffee proudly, and leaned into kiss his boyfriend's cheek. "What? What is it?" he asked worriedly, one hand flying up to palm carefully over his hair. His eyes widened and he grabbed Blaine's arm, dragging him into the nearest boy's bathroom. "Oh my god!" he whined, getting a closer look at his hair in the bathroom mirror. The wind had twisted it and blown it every which direction. "I knew I should have waited until my hairspray dried before going outside… I just… I wanted to get you coffee, and…"
Blaine smiled and put a finger over Kurt's lips before leaning in to kiss them sweetly. "Shhh. You look adorable," he promised. "But if you really hate it that much…" He set his coffee down on the counter and dug through his bag, finally pulling out a maroon beanie and handing it to Kurt. "Here, you can borrow my hat."
Kurt sniffled a little a nodded, adjusting the hat onto his head and picking at a few strands, moving them around so it appeared part of his coif stuck out perfectly from the top. "Thanks, love," he whispered, still a little self-conscious as he patted the top of the beanie.
"Mmmm. You're welcome. Wouldn't want anyone thinking we just had sex in the school bathroom," Blaine teased, kissing the tip of Kurt's nose before taking a sip of coffee. "Ugh, this one's yours," he sighed, switching their cups out as he wrinkled his nose.
Kurt laughed and gently swayed into Blaine's side, walking out into the school hallway and taking a sip of his own coffee.
