So I wrote this on request for a friend from Gaiaonline...I just hadn't posted it here yet.

Oh...my...I must think up a title quick!

Disclaimer: I do not own Bleach or Tite Kubo's characters. Tite Kubo owns them. I borrow them...with no permission nor intent to ever return them. Muwahaha.

And now, on with the story!

Love for a Quincy

Ishida Uryu, Quincy.

He had never, in all his life, believed that a lady of Inoue Orihime's big-busted caliber could be in his league. He never thought that a girl like her could possibly hold the feelings he definitely felt for her.

He had never known the feeling would grow into love, or something like it—but being in close proximity with her for so long fanned it into a blaze. He had never felt this feeling before when he had seen her—or any other girl for that matter. Not until that trip to soul society—and then the feeling bloomed.

What surprised him the most was that she seemed to return that feeling. He had always assumed that she had been attracted to Kurosaki, just Kurosaki. Who would have thought that she would be attracted to a needle-and-thread loving, rather geeky looking Quincy like him?

She had, of course, been hesitant to admit it, but once she did, he showered her with the love and devotion she needed so desperately. He knew she needed it, he knew she wanted it.

A light kiss on the back of her hand; a kiss on the cheek; a helpless grasp of her soft hand—all attempts at making her understand his feelings. He couldn't tell her in words just the way he felt—but somehow she knew, and understood. A brief kiss on the lips brightened his day above all things.

The minute he learned that Orihime had been taken by Aizen, he was furious. However, he did not show it to anyone, but trained and prepared so he would be ready to aid in her rescue. He would fight to his death for the love of a woman like her, for her freedom.

He had not seen her for so long, it had seemed. Her bright eyes, her perky, air-headed attitude—would life as a Hueco Mundo captive change those aspects of her? Would his dream girl be a different woman, all because Aizen wanted to use her powers for his own purpose?

He forced the thought out of his mind, setting his mind instead on rescuing the orange-headed girl.

When it seemed her could bear it no longer, she was there before him, wearing strange clothes, looking thinner than before. Had they starved her? He wondered angrily. Or had she just chosen not to eat?

She barely seemed able to muster a smile at seeing him, but when she did, it came bright and full beam. "Uryu-chan!" she cried happily, flinging herself into his warm, receiving arms.

"I missed you." She whispered, her cheek against his.

This was the best feeling Uryu had experienced yet.

Well, I hope you enjoyed it!
