Characterization
One by one, the characters for the Pokemon Special manga were created. Bit by bit, they came into being.

Characterization.
Red had lots of debate about his character. Black hair, or brown hair? Long and fluffy, or deadly spiky? Should his eyes be the strongest of reds? Or the brightest of ambers?
Soon, an appearance was created. Startling red eyes contrasted with midnight black hair. An average height showed flexibility. A strong face, full of courage and bravery.
But what of personality? Should be the silent, mysterious protagonist? Should he not be protagonist at all? Should he be a kind sort of person, perhaps a bit uncertain about future? Maybe a bumbling hero that connects everyone's heart with love.
He became all those things. Confident at first, cocky even. He made mistakes, but recovered, learned. He mellowed out, into a leader, a kind and strong one, that always strode forward without looking back. But everyone has their ups and downs. He strode off the beaten path sometimes, but always blazed a new trail for people to follow. In the end, he became a strong person that was looked up to, his legacy a mystery.
Green was next to assembled. His character came together smoothly; all the pieces fit into place, appearance and personality. But soon, it changed.
His often startling outfit changes showed his dexterity, although he was never prone to suggestions all that much. His green eyes were sharp throughout, with his growing strength and intelligence.
He became less harsh as time continued, a bit kinder, and less prone to snap. His sharpness never faded though, and his battle skills were always top notch.
Blue was a mystery to the creators when they first started, and mysterious she stayed. Her personality was always being added onto, a thieving history, a big sisterly figure.
Her outfit was subtle at first, then changed drastically, representing a change of heart. She was no longer Blue the Thief, simply Blue. Blue the searching daughter. Blue the teenage girl. Blue the changed.
As such, all their characters were changed once again once the games came out.
