Coffee Date

Sequel to Runaway

There he was. Her best friend. The love of her life. The newest star of the Lakers. Troy Bolton. But why was he looking at her like that, looking at her like he wanted her or loved her. She turned her head to see if he was looking at someone else. But there was no one behind her.

As she reached him she heard him chuckling.

"Same old Brie," he smiled getting to his feet to pull her into a bone crushing hug.

"Hey what do you mean same old Brie?" asked Gabriella as they sat down

"I was looking at you and you looked behind you to see if I was looking at someone behind you. When all this time I was looking at you. Your doubting that I could look at you like for than a friend," explained Troy

"Well we are friends so how can you look at me like that?" asked Gabriella

"Friends take off to New York without any explanation?" asked Troy

"I guess I deserved that," said Gabriella

"And I deserve an explanation," said Troy "What made you run,"

"It's time to be straight with you. It was you, I was in love with you and you were with Trish and you two were so happy. But it was killing me to see you to together. I was happy to see you happy but I couldn't see you to, go to college together and get married and ya da ya da so I fled," explained Gabriella

"Well you've been straight with me I'll be straight with you," said Troy "Trish and I didn't break up because of the long distance it was because I was in love with someone else. Still am always was. I was in love with you Gabriella. I got with Trish because I thought there was no way you could love me your best friend. No way you could have love me at all. So regrettably I tried to move on but in the end Trish found me out. We broke up soon after you left. I was miserable and she figured I missed you and I loved you," explained Troy

"So you love me?" asked Gabriella

"So you love me?" asked Troy

The pair laughed before saying "Yes,"

"I'd kiss you but I'm saw you don't want to be on the front page of some magazine," said Troy

"You should know I'm a journalist," said Gabriella

"I know I've read all your pieces. There at home somewhere," said Troy "So what you're writing now you mentioned in your phone call in where in LA to write something?" he asked

"A piece on the LA Lakers," smiled Gabriella

"What do you need to know?" asked Troy

"I have to speak to your coach about it actually," said Gabriella "I've got a meeting with him in half an hour," she added

"Well then we'd better get going. LA may be better to live in that New York because it's more open but the traffic is a nightmare," he added

"I was going to walk," said Gabriella "I'm meeting him in his office and that's like 10 minutes away,"

"Well then may I escort you?" asked Troy offering her arm

"You may," smiled Gabriella slipping her arm though Troy's.

So the pair headed out of the café and towards the LA Lakers gym. When they got there they knew it was goodbye.

"I hope I see you again Miss Montez," smiled Troy

"You might besides you know where to find me now," smiled Gabriella turning to go in the gym.

"Oh and Troy," she said turning back

"Yeah?" asked Troy

"I really don't care if I'm front page I mean you don't get that much press," smiled Gabriella

Troy took his hands out of his pockets and walked over to her.

"You don't care?" asked Troy

"Not if I'm with you," whispered Gabriella

As soon as those words had left her mouth, his mouth descended on hers and the world faded out.
