Hiya! This song is "Taking Over Me" by Evanescence. The CD is great and so are the songs. This is my first Inu Yasha fic to. I love the Ayame/Kouga paring so this is for them! Kouga shall go with Ayame! I haven't seen all the episodes yet. But I will one day. Anyway, I am happy to present Taking Over Me. Please enjoy and long live Kouga and Ayame!

You don't remember me
But I remember you

"Kouga!" Ayame ran faster to catch up to her love. "Kouga wait for me!"
"You're too slow! Either hurry up or I'll leave without you."
"No please wait!" She ran faster then tripped over her feet.

I lie awake and try so hard
Not to think of you

Kouga walked over and pulled her up.
"I'm sorry. I just… I just wanted to see you!" Tears began to well up into her eyes. "I dreamt about you last night! The dream of when we first met."
"And how you made up that I promised to marry you?"
"It's the truth! Why can't you remember?"

But who can decide what they dream?
And dream I do…

"I swear, if I promised to marry you why can't I remember?"
"I was.."
"I know the story!" He cut her off. He had heard the story many times but he still couldn't remember.

I believe in you
I'll give up everything just to find you

"Aren't you supposed to be with your gramps? Isn't he sick?"
"Yes he is. But he said he wants to see you before he dies."
"And?"
"He wants to see me happy."
"And?"
"He wants us to get married like you promised!"

I have to be with you to live to breathe

"Please Kouga."
"Ugh!" Suddenly Kouga grabbed his head and fell to the ground.
"Kouga! What's wrong?" The memories of that night long ago filled his head.
"Someday I'll make you my wife." Ayame gasped.
"You do remember!"

Have you forgotten all I know
And all we had?

She helped him to his feet and let him use her for support.
"I can stand on my own."
"No you can't!"
"Yes I can!" With that he pushed her away. He stood, but only for a few seconds before he fell again.
"See you can't!" She heaved him up again. "Come on we're almost there!"

You saw me mourning my love for you
And touched my had
I knew you loved me then

"Where are we going?"
"It's a secret!"
"Okay I'll play your game." Ayame giggled.
"That was easy."
"I am in no condition to fight." She walked slower and remained quiet.

I believe in you

"I never knew that you gave up so easily."
"I uh…"
"Don't worry."

They arrived at the place where Kouga had made his promise. He looked around taking in the beautiful scenery. Fireflies dancing giving off a memorizing light. It was a full moon and the glow reflected of the river's water.
"Ayame it's.." He looked at the girl finding a tear going down her cheek. He wiped it off gently with the back of his hand.

I look in the mirror and see your face
If I look deep enough

She turned her head and gave him a look he couldn't refuse.
"Ayame I'm so sorry."
"It's okay."
"No it's not. I've been such a jerk towards you. I am sorry." She gave him a weak smile.
"You don't love me."

So many things inside that are
Just like you are taking over

"No. I see now that you are the one I truly love."
"Oh Kouga I…" He finally regained his strength and hushed her by putting his finger over her lips.
"I love you." He embraced her and kissed her lovingly. They staid over night and slept under the stars and the love of each other.
