There was a time, when history was young that wizards and humans lived in perfect peace. Of course, that was when they were different species. There were wizards, tall, humanoid forms with blue skin and Jet black hair, with glowing green eyes that held many secrets. On the other side, there were humans. Humans couldn't use magic, but were significantly stronger, and better suited for the environment. They had peach skin, different colors of hair, and many different shades of eyes. It was a very simple peace between the two races. They simply avoided each other.

Then, a wizard married and impregnated a human woman. The product of their union was cause for great concern. It looked like a human, but it had the glowing green eyes of a wizard. Wizards hated him, for he represented a slap in the face of their gods. It was against all that they considered holy for the child to exist. Humans found him equally offensive, for the same reasons.

It wasn't long before a great war was in the making. The hybrid child was seen by the humans as an attempt by the wizards to infiltrate and contaminate their population. The wizards saw him as the humans trying to intrude upon their dominance in the field of magic. As it normally happens in such misunderstandings, neither side attempted to talk to the other, believing the other side to be full of liars. The war began, and heavy casualties were sustained on both sides.

During the course of the war, three factions were formed; Wizards who wanted themselves separate from humans, humans who wanted to stay separate from wizards, and those who thought they should be allowed to inter-marry. The third faction separated themselves from the struggle, and hid themselves away.

In their seclusion, the wizards and humans came together, and a new race was started by accident. It was the Race of Merlin, named for the first child. As the struggles died down, the new race emerged, known by both humans and wizards as "The Pure Ones," for their hearts had never been torn by the great struggle.

Over the generations, the race of "Purebloods" spread itself far and wide, spreading the seed of Merlin to the four corners of the world. Merlin himself, who lived for a very long time, eventually found four of the most powerful "pure ones," and convinced them to build a school for any children of the race to learn about their sacred relationship with magic.

During the dark ages, the line of Merlin was thought to be broken, and the knowledge was lost. The true descendants of Merlin spread their seed to the four corners of the world, along with the seed of the founders, as they had become known.

But it was not to last forever. As blood always does, the blood of both the founders, and of Merlin himself, found its way back to England, where our story begins. For it is now time for the blood of the four to mix with the blood of the one, and The race of wizards to once again emerge to confront the darkness and evil that threatens to cover the land.
