This idea came to mind out of absolutely nowhere. I was checking my email inbox and suddenly, BOOM! Inspiration. I had to immediately start typing this down. Its a very short, sort of sweet fluff-fic. Nothing overly-fancy. Just ordinary goodness -- just to keep things as simple and straight to the point as possible.

By the way, I know this doesn't really have anything to do with my story, but -- WE WON THE DEBATE COMPETITION TODAY!! Woo:) Anyways, carry on.
Simplicity
Hiei Jaganshi was anything but simple.
He grew up having a twin, and as a fire apparation in a clan of ice-demons. Because of this, he was literally thrown off the cliff by his mother's own best friend. He had endured many hardships. Had many difficult roads to take til he could ever reach his complicating goals. He was a thief, a murderer. He commited crimes most people could hardly even imagine. He was rough and hard on the outside, like a piece of jagged gray rock. He was never hesitant during battle, and would mercilessly kill anyone in his path.
Even his appearance was complex; unusual. He had ghost-pale skin that contrasted heavily with his onyx-coloured hair and black robes. He was a walking shadow with garnet eyes. He never smiled, nor showed any sign of emotion.
Hiei's relationships with his own team-mates was complicating. He'd call them names when they were irritating him; snapped unmercifully at them if they were getting on his bad side; threaten to kill them if he had the chance. He always made it seem as though he never cared, but in truth, it was far more complicating than that.
His relationship with his own sister itself was not simple – if anything, it was probably the most confusing part of him. Hiei loved Yukina dearly, like a brother would. Although his words sounded harsh, he would never do anything to hurt her. He always kept a careful eye on her; he loved her merely for her innocence, another terrible difference compared to his own sinful deeds. He watched over her when she wasn't looking; and, although he had never told her his true identity as her brother, Hiei was sure she had guessed so long ago.
However, unlike the Jaganshi, the Deity of Death, Botan, was simple.
She owned a pleasant life, had rather ordinary days of excorting dead souls to and fro. She even looked like an ordinary pretty girl – nothing too special. The only thing that contrasted with that, however, was her waves of sky-blue hair. She dressed normally and presented herself naturally. She had never done anything complex or out of the blue.
Everything about Hiei Jaganshi was not simple.
In fact, the only thing he had done simple in his life, was the way he told the Botan that he loved her, as though it was the most ordinary thing in the world.
As the lovers sat, content with each others' presence, Hiei looked over at the beaming face of the ferry girl sitting calmly beside him.
Maybe simplicity wasn't so hard after all.
I hope you liked it. I know there was nothing spectacular about this fic, and that it is really, REALLY short, but, hey, that's the point I was trying to make – how simplicity can be good.
Anyways, if you've read this, please check out my other stories as well. I suggest, "Against All Odds" or "Mr Maybe", because I really need the reviews.
