He hated me, but I found some solace in that. At least I wasn't just another disposable pawn. Even if this isn't what I wanted, I'm just glad that I could make him feel something. It felt good to know that he wanted to keep me around, even if it was for darker purposes. But then again, he is a dark person. A manipulator. An avenger.

However, I can see past all that and that's why I love him. Willing or not, he supplies me with all the information I need to know. That's most likely why he keeps me around, my powers. He is a power hungry person, after all. It shouldn't be any surprise that he envies me.

Thus my powers are both a gift and a curse, for if I didn't have them I would be but another pawn. Yet having them makes me his enemy. But I wouldn't love him if it weren't for them…so I suppose they're more of a gift. If it beings me closer to him, I'll do anything.

'This will be an interesting mission…' someone's thought intruded upon my own. By the energy of the thought, I determined it's origin. 'Itachi…' I sat up properly on my bed. The sound of his footsteps were getting closer, so I assumed that we would be going on a mission together. Not five seconds later said ninja was at my door.

'Come in.' I answered mentally. Itachi opened my door radiating annoyance.

"Please don't do that Arisu." he grumbled unhappily.

"Please forgive my Uchiha-san." I replied with a nod, implanting the idea of forgiveness in his head.

His aura quickly changed from an aggravated orange to a friendly yellow.

"Of course, Arisu-chan. I just wish you would stop using your powers on me." Itachi sighed with a small smile.

"So what's our mission?" I questioned, impatiently. I'm used to getting information when I want, but I didn't want to upset the Uchiha anymore.

"Right, we need to infiltrate a party and retrieve information from the host." He replied calmly. I smirked.

"Well of course the both of us are chosen. I assume we head out soon. When's the party?"

"Two nights from now, in the land of earth."

"Ah." 'Isn't that where Deidei-chan's from?' I didn't dare ask it out loud. Itachi's only reply was the sound of his foot steps as he left to pack.

I took that as a yes. Not like I couldn't find out myself.

I got up and began to pack the necessities. I assumed Itachi would get me a dress to wear to the party. He wasn't a total flake.

'I wonder if Madara will miss me…' I let my head droop at that thought. I highly doubted it, but I would still visit him before I left tonight.
