An uninterested voice muttered, "Care to repeat that?" Zelos Wilder, the prestigious Chosen One and renowned womanizer, threw an indignant look at his companion.

"Don't play dumb with me, Zelos. I've seen this, all of this, before. As much as I hate to admit it, I guess even you can fall in love."

Zelos yelped, "Sheena! Not so loud!" Sheena wore a smug grin. So her assumption proved right. Watching the Chosen flail his arms in desperate protest never failed to entertain her.

Sheena rolled her eyes and teased, "Afraid that he'll hear us?" For once, she held the advantage. And over Zelos no less. It would probably do him some good, being fed his own medicine.

"Who, Lloyd? Lloyd?! You're saying that I'd actually consider Lloyd Irving eligible as… as… something more than my best bud!" Sheena laughed at his saucer plate eyes.

"I don't repeat myself, nor stutter."

Zelos wasn't convinced. He continued to deny vehemently any feelings for the naïve idealist.

Sheena frowned and tapped her foot impatiently.

He sighed in defeat, realizing that he had to come up with a different approach. "Listen, what's between me and Lloyd is like a rivalry, and there's only two options," - he dug around in his pocket and pulled out a penny - "Heads, I kill him. Tails, he kills me. The chances of me being in love with him are as likely as the damn thing landing on its side!"

Sheena huffed, annoyed that Zelos insisted upon playing charades. The word 'obvious' obviously held no meaning to him. With that conclusion in mind, she decided that a recess was in order. The summoner gave him one more roll of the eyes before walking away.

Zelos didn't grumble or anything of the sort. Though, just to convince himself, he tossed the coin into the air.

His face paled.

In the road was a crack. In the crack was the penny.

On its side.
