I knew I was his as soon as I saw his eyes sparkle under the florescent light of the high school classroom. His dark brown eyes matched his dark brown hair and when he caught me staring at him, he raised his lips into a cheeky grin. From that first meeting to the day of our wedding, that smile always made my cheeks blush. He was my fantasy, my gentleman, my prince.

"Poor dumb bitch," the man commented as he flicked to the end of the diary.

"Hey," the man's brother snapped the women's private writings away from prying eyes. "She was in love. Sometimes when you're in love, you don't see the other person's faults as easy as the next person."

"Well, if that's what love is I don't want any part of it."

"Don't worry Sammy," Dean gave a fake grin. "I think you actually have to have a feel something to fall in love and the fact that you don't even a soul..." he trailed off. Sam had stopped listening to him anyway. He had gone back searching through the woman's personal affects. They were on the case of a missing young woman who hadn't been seen in three days. Their only suspect, who they suspected to be a newly converted vampire, was also missing. Together they had broken into the newly married couple's house and were currently searching for clues in the bedroom.

Dean rubbed his hand over his mouth and chin as he took in his brother's face. It wasn't his Sammy any more no matter how much it looked like him. His skin, his sideburns, his clothes... sure the guy looked like Sam, but it wasn't his little brother. Who knew a man without a soul wasn't much of a man?

"I can't do this anymore," Dean mumbled as he got up off the floor.

Sam watched his brother walk across the room. "What about Crowley?" he asked.

"I don't give a damn about Crowley," Dean pivoted at the door. "The only thing I care about is you!" he shouted louder than he intended. "Tell me, Sammy," Dean called him the nick name out of habit. "What's the most important thing about this case?"

Sam sighed heavily and narrowed his eyes in wonder. "Finding the husband of course! Newly converted vampires are easier to interrogate and..."

Dean was pacing the threshold and rubbing his hand over his head. "No," he shouted stopping the man talking. "The most important thing about this case is the girl. Saving people, hunting things, that's what we're supposed to be doing."

Sam, who remained sitting on the bed, scrunched up his nose slightly. "That's a little stale, isn't it?"

"Dammit, just stop it! I can't take this anymore," he shouted. He looked at the man straight in the eye. "I want my little brother back."

Sam finally got up from his position and nodded slowly. He went to step forward by stopped when he saw Dean flinch. He nodded again. "Finding this vampire could lead us to the alpha and when we bring it to Crowley we'll be one step closer to getting my soul back."

But Dean shook his head. "No, I can't work for that jackass any longer. I'm going to find another way." He turned and headed down the stair case.

"Castiel can't help you," Sam shouted after him.

"Then I'll find someone else," Dean shouted back hopefully.
