Quinn was so bored right now. She loved studying law but sometimes looking up cases was tedious. And that boy's ass on display was not helping her concentration. She decided to take a break and enjoy the view fully.
The unknown student had spent the last ten minutes – so what if she knew, she was bored – searching for something in the stacks and climbing steadily higher on a rickety ladder. She suspected it was a ploy. Right now he was reaching for the highest shelf and a little to the right, his body all stretched and tensed.
Quinn didn't know if it was truly for her benefit but, boy, did she appreciate the view. Jeans which hugged his legs perfectly, slightly rumpled shirt with rolled up sleeves, and those forearms...
She definitely had to talk to him. To see, if there was also a brain that went with that body. Maybe not right now though. He seemed like any distraction would send him falling to the floor. Or rather on that chair that was right under him.
Quinn quickly made up her mind, rose from her seat and walked toward the stacks. She pulled the chair out of the way.
Precisely like she had thought the student was startled by the movement and lost his foothold for a second. Quinn jumped to the ladder and steadied it so that he could climb down from where he was currently half-hanging on the shelves.
"Hey," Quinn said when he was standing on the ground, "are you okay? I didn't mean to startle you like that."
"No problem. Except for my bruised ego, I'm fine," he answered, embarrassed. "That was not the way I hoped to get your attention. I'm Luke by the way."
"Quinn. And I would be all attention with a cup of coffee in my hand. So let's ditch this here for today, shall we."
"Good idea, I can't focus on cases any more anyway," he smiled.
"Law?"
"Yep."
"Did you have professor Robins?"
"Couldn't miss it, brilliant mind that one..."
