Harry grunted and his knees creaked as he sat down, placing his cane beside him. He had spent a day filled with presents, cake and wild cheers, but now he just wanted to end his day with the one he loved. Finally settled, Harry took a deep breath and looked straight at the headstone in front of him.
"I did it, Draco. I am finally one hundred and one today," said Harry, his voice soft and aged.
Harry coughed, rubbed his chest with a wrinkled hand, and took another deep breath. "Our whole family is here… They are growing up so fast," Harry finished in a small whisper, his voice breaking.
Looking down Harry continued, "I still get mad at you for leaving me, you know. But then I look at our children… and remember our promise, and--." Lifting his head, and looking straight at theprintof Draco Malfoy, he said in a stronger voice, "But I have fulfilled my promise, Draco. I lived. We are to spend eternity together now, remember?"
Harry looked down and noticed that his hands were clutching the grass tightly and his entire body was shaking. Closing his eyes, he took another long deep breath.
The light summer breeze picked up and wrapped around Harry as a warm blanket. He smiled at the brief sensation of a light kiss on his cheek; just like the ones Draco gave him whenever he thought Harry was asleep. He felt as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
When Harry opened his eyes again he noticed that he was no longer sitting on the hill but in the swinging chair of the porch. The day was brighter. He could still faintly smell the ocean and hear the muffled sounds of the seagulls.
"Hello, Harry."
Harry turned his head to see Draco leaning against the railing of the porch. His breath caught in his throat when he noticed Draco looked just as beautiful as the day they exchanged their vows outside a small chapel. Out of nowhere, Draco had proposed and, taking advantage of the wedding ceremony happening that day, they married each other just outside the chapel's doors.
"Draco," Harry breathed. "You came back."
Draco smiled and walked towards Harry. "I promised you I would, didn't I?"
"Yeah," Harry smiled widely.
Extending his hand towards Harry, Draco said, "Ready to spend eternity with me, Harry?"
Harry took Draco's hand and allowed himself to be pulled up. He looked at their joined hands and noticed that he too looked the same as that day. His body was no longer stiff, his bones no longer ached, and his hands were no longer wrinkled. He looked up, and, meeting Draco's eyes, said, "I've been ready for 75 years."
Draco pulled Harry into his arms and whispered in his ear, "Happy Birthday, Harry."
Harry didn't know who moved first, but the next thing he felt was the familiar warmth and taste of Draco's lips on his own.
…fin.
