Disclaimer: I don't own the Dead Poets Society. If I did Neil wouldn't have died.
The father's thoughts
My son died today. Killed himself with my gun. I don't understand why. He left a letter but it only makes me more confused.
"Dear mum and dad,
My friends will understand. I'm sorry to disappoint you. I tried to explain how I felt to you but the words escaped me because I knew you wouldn't understand. I can't live the life you want me to, my soul would have died. So to free my soul I must end my life. Goodbye.
Your son,
Neil Perry. "
His friends will understand. I doubt that. I know who is responsible though. I will make him pay for my son's death. MR. Keating. That man put those foolish ideas about acting in my son's head. He knew that Neil would only get hurt by these silly notions. 17 Year old boys are not old enough to know what is best for them and I believe my son proved that. I will make him pay. I promise.
