~Prologue~

I saw him watching me, studying me. I had no idea who the heck he was or why he was freaking here. I kept on walking casually as if everything was alright. It was close to twilight and I went to the bus stop. I tried really hard to pretend that I didn't notice him. I think he knows that I know that he's watching me. Thank god that the bus came. I boarded the bus and when I looked back the man was no longer there. I tried not to think about what had just happened. But, there were tons of questions running through my mind. The main question would be: Why is this man following me and who is he?

I got myself together and tried to convince myself that it was my friend Brandon. He always likes to scare me. Usually it works but man, he is scaring me to death this time. I got off the bus and started on home. I looked behind me to see if someone was there and there was no one. I kept on walking and then I had this feeling that there was someone behind me. I didn't look, afraid to see someone there. Then...CRACK! I heard a tree branch break. I looked to see and it was the same man. My heart sank and started to pound. I didn't want to run, probably he would come right at me. I just needed to try to stay calm and cool.

Finally, I saw my house ahead. I continued to walk. I went up my porch and realized something. I looked at my watch and it was 9:05! Five minutes pass curfew! I went around my house looking out for the man and into my backyard. I tried to open the backdoor and it was locked. Great. So, I grabbed the ladder (that's always in my yard) and angled it towards my room window. The ladder wasn't that heavy and it was probably 7 feet. I climbed onto the ladder and opened my window. I always keep my window open for cases like this. Yes! I made it, just in before my parents could catch me. I pushed the ladder away from my window and got startled by a voice. It came from behind me. "Nice attempt to not get caught. You're grounded Drew." My mom said sternly. "But mom. I was being chased by a maniac!" I whined.

"Not this story again. This is like the twentieth time, it may have worked the first time but now? Really?" "It's the truth! This guy keeps on following me!" "I don't want to hear it! You're grounded and that is final. That means no more video games, no more hanging out with friends, and no more going to the mall." "Bu-" "No but's. Do you want to make it worse?" I shook my head sadly. "Now get ready to go to sleep." Ugh! My mom never listens to me, I can't believe this just happened to me.
