Our Day

----------

I can do this.

One foot after the other.

This is Our Day.

Slowly lifting her head up to meet the eyes of the man waiting for her at the end of the aisle. Breathing deeply to calm her racing heart, the only thing keeping Kagome from hurtling towards the altar was her brother's hold on her.

Finally, after what had seemed like eternity, they reached the front of the church and Souta was passing her over to the golden eyed man in front of her with a simple kiss on her forehead.

Staring up into his face she saw his lips kick up into one of his classic smirks before they slowly turned to face the priest. The words flowed out of the little mans' mouth, their sound resonate throughout the entire church, so that all could hear.

After all the traditional words of the ceremony had been said, they had reached the final and most important part, the vows and confirmation.

"Kagome Higurashi, do you take this man, to have and to hold, for richer and for poorer, through sickness and through health, and forsaking all others, till death do you part?" the priest asked her.

Looking into his eyes, she said the words that would bind her to him forever, "I do."

Then slowly the little priest turned to the tall, young man standing next to the beautiful woman. "And do you, Inuyasha, take this woman, to protect and to cherish, for richer and for poorer, through sickness and through health, and forsaking all others, till death do you part?"

There was a pause before he slowly took in a deep breath and turned to face the woman beside him. He smiled a beautifully angelic smile as he gazed down at the woman in front of him. The look of total and complete adoration and love on his face made every single person of the congregation hold their breath at the wonder of it and the tears well in the eyes of his beloved.

Finally he drew in a breath to say the words that she most wanted to hear, "I do, until the end of all time."

"You may now kiss your bride."

Leaning forward Kagome stretched up to kiss the man of her dreams, "Inuyasha…" she breathed just as their lips met in a heart wrenching kiss.

Parting finally she looked up into his eyes and whispered, "I will love you until forever and a day."

They walked out of the church with their arms around each other, knowing things would never be the same, because they had each other and things could only get better.

Hey guys, just a random little story that popped into my head because I was feeling overly romantic. It was short I know and horribly cliché but hey! It was something! And it also makes me wish that someday I'll have my happily ever after…
