Every time she is anywhere near Jack, she feels her threads pull taut. He affects her like no other has... she wonders why.
Whatever he needs, if she can get it, she will. The joy at being able to help him also stretches her threads taut.
When he speaks to her... when they converse for hours about everything and nothing all at once? If they are walking along talking and he takes her hand?
She most certainly will burst a seam or two.
His touches are always delicate... as if he understands just how much stress is on her poor threads. But when he does touch her? The thrills he causes are almost unbearable. Sometimes she manages to hold herself together until he walks away... then she lets herself completely fall apart.
Recalling his touch bursts a lot of her threads... especially around her heart.
If Jack knows... he never really comments. He lets her pick up her pieces discreetly.
He's such a gentleman like that.
When he's in the midst of a new and wonderful idea and ends up ignoring her? That also causes some of her threads to stretch taut and burst.
But always with pain.
But to his credit... he always comes 'round and remembers her. And then the joy threatens to burst her open.
And all in the time that they have been friends and have learned so much about each other, helped each other and leaned on each other?
Jack has become quite skilled at stitching and sewing.
And that delicate touch as he wields thread and needle and moves it in and out of her? She's pretty sure it's something special... something that is growing with each day that passes. And they don't comment on it, even though they both notice it.
Only Jack can stitch her heart so beautifully.
