Chapter 1
I stopped in a small alley way at sat down. "What are you doing Mary Ann" I mumble to myself. It had only been a week since I left the orphanage. A week since I felt everything I have ever known.
Flashback (A week ago)
I sat in the field when Mara and her gang (the bullies) came up to me. I put my hands out to stop her. "Go a way" I say to them. I heard a thump. I looked up and Mara was half way across the field lying on her back as if she had been push.
"Sara" she called and with that Sara the owner of the orphanage came out.
"What is going on here" she yells.
Mara stood "that freak" she pointed to me "shot some kind of beam at me like last time but it was green not yellow."
"Mary Ann say your sorry then go to your bed and stay there" Sara yelled at me.
"Sorry" I mumble as I walk to my bed. That night I felt with only the clothes on my back, my hat, my phone, the necklace and ring form my parents, and $20.
End Flashback
I stood up and walked back out to the street. "Blot Flair" someone yells behind me as a small yellow orb hit the wall beside me. The wall started to crumble as I ran. Then it happened. One minute I was running the next I was on the ground. A boy stood at held his hand out. I flinched away and put my hand out. The same thing happened that had happened at the orphanage. The boy dodged it.
"Whoa you're a seeker too" he asked.
"No" I answer. I take his hand felling as if I could trust him. "Who are you" I asked.
"I'm Dante Vale" he said "I'm training to be a seeker and you should be too". "What's a seeker you mentioned it before" I said as I stood. That's when I really looked him for the first time. He had Amber brown eyes and auburn brown hair. We could have been twins but I had blue eyes instead of brown. "A seeker" he said bring me out of my thoughts "is a person who uses titans and magic to protect his or herself."
"You mean like that green beam I can use right" I say brushing the dirt off my clothes "oh how rude of me I'm Mary Ann"
"Well where are you going?" Dante asked "you don't go to my school"
"No I don't go to school at all" Mary Ann said.
"Why not" Dante's face twisted questioningly as he asked.
"I um I-I don't have a family" I studier as I fight back tears.
"I'm sorry" Dante's voice full of sadness "I could live without my family and Metz." We stood for what seemed like an hour. "I know" Dante blurted out " You should come and meet Metz he could teach you how to be a seeker."
"I don't know" I say. Dante doesn't seem to hear me grabbing my arm and pulling me down a dark street. We finally stop at a huge house.
"Id please" A man's voice said. Dante pressed the button to speak.
"Dante Vale" he replyed to the man
"Ah mister Vale, Metz has been waiting." As the gates open Dante pulled me up the hill to the house.
