"It's all be over soon," she whispers to herself. It is a cold December night. The wind is harshly blowing and snow is falling heavily down on the town of Maycomb. Lucinda, a 16-year-old girl, is standing on top of the edge of a bridge. She is currently seventy feet above an icy cold river. She swallows down a giant lump that's forming in her throat. She silently let hot tears stream down her pale, tear stained face as she slowly steps closer to the edge. In her head, memories upon memories race through her head, all seem to be bad. She remembers the sexual abuse her father gave her when she was twelve. She remembers when her mother purposely left her at Walmart at the age of nine. She remembers the first time the bullying at school became violent, and when she was in the emergency room that following night because her older brother pushed her down the stairs. He pushed her down the stairs because she refused to let him touch her.

She starts to sob harder, the pain in her heart increases and the thoughts in her head become louder and darker. Jump! No one will miss you, you're just a burden to everyone anyways. Lucinda screams out in frustration and pulls out a handful of hair. Why her? What has she ever done to deserve this pain? Why can't anyone understand that she just wants to be happy and feel loved for once? Why did God put her on Earth all alone? Lucinda takes a deep breath and turns around. She close her eyes and falls backwards. While falling at a fast yet slow speed towards the icy cold river below, she lets out one last cry. The cry was not out of sadness of pain, but simply out of a bit of joy. She is finally happy, and all it took was her life.
