Yellow Bow

Okays. . . brushes off the cobwebs Wow, it really has been a looong time since I've written anything but seeing as Easter is coming around the corner and I'm bored from doodling in my notebook, I thought I would just post this tidbit. I usually write Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings but I thought I would give Sailor Moon a shot so here it is. A short little fluff that rose from my sheer boredom. Just remember, I don't own Sailor Moon, only this story. Please enjoy and review!

Yellow Bow

There it sat, innocently at his front step, yellow bow shining in the bright morning sunlight. Blue eyes swept down to one end of the hallway and then back to the other end but there was still no hint of life in the deserted corridor. After another brief pause, the young, black-haired man bent down and gingerly picked up the parcel. He cast another suspicious glance down the hallway before the apartment door was shut behind him.

Three Hours Later

There it sat, innocently on the bare kitchen countertop, yellow bow shining in the afternoon sunlight. It was toying with him, he knew it, but he couldn't bring himself to touch the package again after he had set it down on the table. Pursing his lips, blue eyes narrowed as they studied the enigma sitting in his kitchen. A finger twitched but otherwise there was no further movement.

Five Hours Later

Sunlight no longer played along the cheerful yellow bow, which was now looking a little dejected, as the lone occupant of the apartment studiously ignored it while going about preparing his dinner. There was a pause though as the man halted in the middle of the kitchen and dared to look back at the innocent present. It had been haunting him all day now but he still had no answers. He was about to brush it out of his thoughts again before a loud knock sounded. Sighing, he undid his apron and then moved to the door. . .only to be greeted by the last person he had expected to see at his front step.

"Odango?"

"Did you open it, Mamoru-baka?"

Confusion, played across his handsome features before his eyes flitted back to the package still sitting on his counter. "That?"

Peering around the door, Usagi shook her head. "Are you kidding? You didn't even touch it? See if I ever get you a present anymore. I spent almost all my allowance on that! If you didn't want it you should've just told me and returned it."

The rant was lost to him as only one word filtered through. "A present? For me?"

Brilliant blue eyes turned back to Mamoru as one delicate eyebrow rose before understanding filtered through her eyes. . .and maybe more. "Yes. A present." Usagi presented the stunned man in front of her a dazzling grin that caused his heart to skip a beat and turned on her heel to go. "I expect a thank you tomorrow Mamoru-baka!" And she was gone.

Slowly the man closed the door behind her, trying to process all the emotions running through him. His attention wandered momentarily as, yet again, he caught sight of the yellow bow which was attached to the handle of a purple Easter basket. /A present. . ./ No longer was it mocking him as he grinned and went to plunder the treats within, promising himself that a thank you and possibly more would be in order for a certain someone that matched the cheerful little yellow bow lighting up his apartment.
