AN: So if this is as bad as I think it is, sorry :( And I know that Korrasami is cannon and Mako and Korra probably never end up together but oh well. Please critique and tell me what you liked because I'm not even sure if it's any good.

Set after Book 4, after Korra and Asami get back from their vacation

I don't own the Avatar universe or any of the characters, so please don't sue me or whatever :)

Mako's hands were on her waist and Korra's breathing started to get heavier. His golden eyes were dark and dilated, making her face flush and skin shiver. He wanted her, or, more importantly, she wanted him.

Their boots were kicked aside as the firebender slammed the door shut behind them. They hadn't been alone like this for a long time. Korra hesitantly reached out towards his cheek and cupped it. "You're so beautiful." She whispered, trying not to seem as overwhelmed as she actually was.

He leaned in then, resting his forehead on hers and closing his eyes. "I'm nothing compared to you, Korra."

She smiled as he brought his lips towards her, the gentle pressure of his mouth on hers welcoming. It was just like old times. Just like before.

Mako's hands were in her hair, running his fingers through the short strands and slid in between her lips with his tongue. The Avatar deepened it, trying to release something inside if her; the fear, the anger, the love. Anything.

He pulled her head closer to his mouth with a rush of heat and she couldn't breathe. She was on the rocks. The oxygen was being expelled from her lungs. She wasn't needed and was weak and was everything she hated and she screamed out, pulling away and automatically maneuvering into a fighting stance. But the only person standing there was Mako, with wide eyes and his jaw unhinged.

And then she collapsed on the ground, a mess of tears and hair pulling. "I can't get him out Mako; it won't leave me!" Korra wiped her nose, embarrassed and ashamed. "I- I thought when he helped me get into the Avatar state it would be over…But it's not. What do I do?"

Her arms were wrapped around herself, squatting on the floor almost like a child. Her eyes red-rimmed and terrified.

"I-I don't know Korra." He moved to hold her, consol her, but she flinched away from him. The firebender looked at the floor, feeling useless.

"I'm sorry Mako. I'm so sorry."

"Hey," He touched her arm, trying to calm her. "You don't need to be sorry, Korra. If you don't think we should kiss, then we won't kiss. How does that sound?"

Korra was shaking. She hated being like this; a quivering mess that couldn't even defend herself. She hated it. "I'm sorry." The Avatar couldn't help but repeat the words, over and over again.

"Listen, Korra. I told you I've got your back, and we're going to work past this." He offered her a small smile that probably made him look like Wu when he was trying to talk to his grandmother. But that didn't matter.

He took her hand in his and turned it over, placing a kiss on it. "Okay, so I can't kiss your mouth. We can work past that, right?"

She smiled back at him through her tears. "Yeah, I guess."
