Aunt Cass was driving Tadashi's friends to the cafe when her phone buzzed. They had planned to meet Hiro and Tadashi after the two brothers had gotten their stuff to leave, while Aunt Cass brought the rest of the group in her minivan. They were currently having a conversation about where to add Hiro into their lab when Aunt Cass picked up the phone.

"Hello?"Aunt Cass hushed the teenagers whom were being loud.

"Is this the guardian of Hiro and Tadashi Hamada?" An unfamiliar male voice spoke.

"Y-yes, this is. " Aunt Cass' hands shook.

"We need you to come to SFIT. There was an… incident that arose."

Aunt Cass felt like she got hit in her stomach. She put down the phone and ignored all the conflicting traffic signs as she headed straight back to the college.

Wasabi raised his voice. "Woooah, what's going on?"

"Something happened to Hiro and Tadashi." Aunt Cass didn't move her eyes from the road as she sped past two red lights.

Everyone was silent. Nobody said a single word as she pulled her minivan up into the college only to see a charred building.

"No…" Honey Lemon whispered underneath her breath. "It can't be…"

Aunt Cass slammed the door of the car and headed straight to the center of all the firetrucks, police cars, and ambulances. She searched for any sign of her boys, and sign at all. They had to be okay.

Then Aunt Cass heard the familiar voice of Hiro behind her.

"Aunt Cass!" Hiro shouted, but not with his usual cheerfulness. She turned around to see his face covered with tears, and he was running towards her to give her a hug. He grabbed onto her torso and started to cry more.

Hiro couldn't make words out as he continued to sob. Aunt Cass had no idea what happened, but she knew something must've happened to Tadashi.

She looked up to the police officer who Hiro had been with and he had a very solemn face.

"Tadashi, he—" Hiro managed to say between crying.

"It's okay, Hiro." Aunt Cass couldn't cry in front of him. She had to stay strong.

The rest of Tadashi's friends came within moments. Aunt Cass didn't hear them say anything, but she could tell they knew something happened to their friend.

"It's not okay, Aunt Cass!" Hiro said, wiping the tears from his swollen eyes. "It's not okay…"

Aunt Cass didn't know what to say. She let Hiro cry more before he spoke again.

"We were… we were talking and then the exhibition hall caught on fire. Tadashi ran in there and he-"

"It's okay, Hiro, you don't need to continue." Aunt Cass tried to assure him, but she knew there was nothing she could say or do that would be able to help him.

"Tadashi's gone and I could've stopped him!" Hiro shouted. "He would be standing with me if I held on to him for just a few more seconds!"

"Hiro-"

"It should have been me instead!" A moment of silence rushed over the group as Hiro held his brother's hat that shook in his hands.

Aunt Cass knew that he just needed reassurance, but the only person who could reassure him when he was like this was Tadashi. But he wasn't here.

"Why does it hurt so much, Aunt Cass?" Hiro's voice trembled as he whispered to his aunt.

"It's because we care even more."
