Three years before present day
James' P.O.V. (In 2001)
Last week was our two year anniversary when I proposed to her, even thought I knew that I was going to be deployed a week later. We promised each other that we would make our relationship work somehow. I was going to be gone for a year to fight in Iraq. While I was gone Ali, and her mom would be planning the weeding, so we could get married right when I returned home.
A year later in April (In 2002)
I was returning home from Iraq, I couldn't wait to see my fiancé and family again. Ali had sent me an invitation, which said the wedding would be next month on the eighteenth. I had to go get my tuxedo; my friends were going to go with me. I already asked my two best friends Adam and Nick to be my groomsmen, and my brother Michael to be my best man. All I had left to do was get my tuxedo and get ready for the wedding; but for now I just wanted to spend time with my soon to be wife.
1 month later on May 18th
Today was finally here. The day Ali would become my wife. I couldn't wait to watch her walk down the aisle, and be able to call her mine forever. As the hours went on, I became more anxious for the wedding. Ali had planned a beautiful wedding and just to celebrate this day of us uniting in matrimony and becoming one would be a day we would never forget, and the celebration afterwards would be huge and a lot of fun.
Hours later
I was standing at the altar watching the bridesmaids and flower girl come down the aisle and I was smiling, knowing Ali was about to come down with her father. Minutes later she was standing in front of me at the altar in a gorgeous white strapless dress with her beautiful bleach blonde hair pinned back. I was so ecstatic that this day was finally happening and that she finally going to become my wife. An hour after the wedding we were at the reception, enjoying the party. It was time for our first dance as a married couple. The song 'I Won't Give Up' by Jason Mraz played. We fell in love with the song, because for us it meant that we would do anything for love no matter the cost. It also meant a lot to us because during our engagement I was in the war and we promised each other that we wouldn't give up on love and our relationship.
Three years later (In 2005)
Today was the anniversary of Ali's and I wedding. Two months after the wedding, we found out that Ali was pregnant with our daughter Alysse. Eighteen months after Alysse was born we found out Ali was pregnant again with our son Jayce. We decided that we wanted to start our family right away in case I had gotten deployed again. Every morning Ali and I both woke up with the fear of me being deployed back into the war. As a part of our vows on our wedding day, we vowed that neither of us would give up on each other. A year later, I was deployed back into the war for two years, going to Afghanistan. After I completed the two years in the war, I received an honorable discharge award which allowed me to stay with my family.
