She was sitting on the couch watching in a daze at the flickering fire of the fireplace
She had changed. She became more silent and more shy, she avoied to much acquaintances, because there were still some people who wanted to kill her.
She had fear that her new life could end in the near future.
She came back again. After her, in despair, pretendet death she had undergone of a long treatment. When she was healthy again, she came back to him.
She had long, colored hair and a new name. Jennifer Shepard was history, and Cheryl Smith taken it's place. Everything changed.
Then a hand rested on her shoulder. No. Not everything. Her love to this man, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, and the friendship to his team stayed. But the remainder was different.
"Hey honey! Are you okay?" he asked and sat down next to her.
She leaned against his chest and nodded.
He was so happy to have her by his side. All the same, whether she had red or black hair, his feelings would never change. Endless love.
The time she was away was one of the hardest times in his life. The same empties, he felt when Shannon and Kelly died.
He looked
at the face of his dearest. Jenny had fallen asleep and was breathing
calmly.
He took her on his arms and carried her to the
bedroom, where he put her gently to bed.
He considered wheter he
should go to the cellar and work on his boat, yes, it wasn't
finished yet, but he decided against this. He lay down next to her in
bed and took an arm around her.
Then he fell asleep too.
A lonely jet of moonlight shined on the sleepy pair, before a cloud stole the light of the shiny moon.
