Ok so this is a short little valentines day thing I did. honestly I don't even know what I was doing with this... I just kinda pooped it out... Anyway I hope you enjoy! Please if you have any suggestions of what I could do better please, please share them! I'm kinda new to writing thing that are semi-good so honestly I need all the help I can get. Thank you!
She thought this valentines day would be like all the others, alone. Earlier in the day she had seen Marius buying flowers, a huge bouquet of beautiful crimson roses. Obviously they were for the new girl Cossette.
Eponine already new she had very slim chances of being with the boy if her dreams, who she had been in love with since they had met in their philosophy class. But, with this new obstacle in the equation her dreams were getting farther and father away from reality.
She had even been the one to introduce Cossette to Marius after he became fascinated with her. They were at their favorite coffee shop. The rest of their student friends were their and as boisterous as ever. Enjolras had been ranting on and on about equality and justice as always, only stopping to lecture grantaire about continuously drinking from his canteen that contained whatever alcohol he favored that day. Joly had been reapplying hand sanitizer to his hands every minute or so and continuously wiping down the table. Eponine had used the excuse of having to watch her brother Gavroche, who adored the students, to come and be with them, even though she knew Coufeyrac would take good care of him.
In an attempt to impress she had been showing Marius some of her writings, when the young blonde walked through the doors. Marius had immediately been captivated. He had begged her to go talk to her, introduce them. What could she say? She loved him enough to do anything for him, even if that meant hurting herself in the process.
They had instantly fallen for each other. It was painful seeing them go around town on dates, holding hands, sitting next to each other in class.
So she sat in her old ruined couch in her apartment and prepared to watch those crappy forever alone valentines day movies that were on TV for those people like her without a special someone. She was switching to The Notebook when there was a knock at her door. Feeling very annoyed she got up from her sunken in spot on her couch, she really didn't feel like human company today.
If she didn't know better she would have thought what she saw was part of one of her fantasies. Marius was standing at her door, the bouquet of flowers she had seen him buy earlier in his hand.
Her doubts took the better of her, "Are you going to go Cossette?" She asked, "What? The lover boy needs some advice?"
"Actually, I... u-um... I-I brought these for you,"
His face turned bright red as he extended his hand holding the flowers. Eponine was shocked. Tears began to fill her eyes, but she was still unsure. "Is this like a friend thing or a... a..."
"A love thing?" He finished for her.
"Yeah..." She whispered as she looked down. She could see Marius shuffling nervously, rocking back and forward on his heels. He came closer to her and as she lifted her head to see his face he leaned in and planted a kiss on her lips.
"Eponine, I love you. Will you be my valentine?" He whispered. They were so close she could feel his breathe on her lips.
She answered by leaning in and returning the kiss. Finally, she though as he wrapped his hands around her in a loving hug. This was the perfect Valentine.
