A/N: What up my lovely readers? I might be adding to my GOTG fic soon! :D But I have had this one floating around ever sense the new season of Criminal Minds, particularly episode "X", came out. Fair WARNING! ITS SLIGHT SLASHY, so if that ain't your cup of tea, please be nice to me! Hope you enjoy it!
"Kid? You okay?" Morgan's voice was soft and unsure as he the question. The underlying fear was always present these days; fear of complications and pain that came with any injury, especially where Spencer was concerned. And the inability to help drive the pain and discomfort away was madding to the older agent.
"Yeah, you?" Reid was quick to cover his expression of discomfort with another. Deflect and cover always seemed to be the best option, instead of being seen as weak in front of others.
"Just tired," Morgan voice was deep and held a slight hint of exhaustion as he lifted his coffee cup for another swig of bad police station coffee.
"Dr. Lee sent this over. The most recent victim had more than leather particulates in her stomach; she chewed through it, leaving entire chunks behind. She also found traces of horse hair. He's using a bridle." Reid's voice lacked his usual peppy quality it had when he spouted off facts. Morgan's brow furrowed in concern not only from the unusual style of gag but for Reid as well. Needless to say Morgan didn't believe him at all. But he knew that approaching him now would only close him to a discussion, but also lead to an argument that he could take care of himself. So instead Morgan stayed to what he knew would be safe, the case, "This guy could of used anything, why is he using that?"
"It's either specific to his fantasy or something he had easy access to," Reid almost seemed relieved that Morgan chose not to pursue the topic.
"How many horse ranches are there around here?" Morgan turned from the board to catch Reid in mid-stretch with a dopey smile on his face. The relief in his face was enough for Morgan to reach out and catch Reid's hand as it fell back into his lap.
