Confidant
Summary: Josslyn comes out to Michael. Moment from my story "My Hero"
Michael knew something was up the moment he opened the door. His sister stood in front of him, head lowered, long blonde locks hiding her face from view. Her small hands played nervously with the hem of the pink dress she wore. "Josslyn?" He asked. "Are you okay?"
She glanced up. "I just really needed to talk to you." She told him honestly, blue eyes wide.
He nodded and let her into the the small house he'd bought a few months ago after being reunited with his son, Jonah.
Josslyn followed Michael to the kitchen where he began to pour them both a glass of tea. Josslyn took a seat on the counter, swinging her legs back and forth the way she used to when she was a little girl. "I kissed the girl I'm in the play with, Clarissa." She told him breathlessly.
Michael frowned. "That's to be expected, isn't it? Isn't that a scene in the play you two are doing?"
His sister lowered her head, hair curtaining her face. "Yes. But...I really liked the kiss. More than I should've. I don't know what to do."
Michael set down the pitcher of tea and moved toward his sister. He reached for her hands with one of his and tilted her chin up so she had to meet her eyes. "There's nothing wrong with that, you know that, right?"
Josslyn nodded. "Of course I do!" She exclaimed. "I just...I guess I needed to talk to someone."
Michael took a seat on the counter beside her and bumped their shoulders together. "Does anyone else know?"
She shook her head. "Not yet."
"I can come with you when you tell mom if you want." He offered.
Josslyn looked relieved at that. "Could you? I know she'll accept me no matter what, but it would just be cool to have you there."
Michael smiled and nodded. "Of course. I have to pick Jonah up anyway."
Michael gently held out a hand for his sister when they got to the front door. He grinned reassuringly at the teen as she took in a deep breath and placed her hand in his.
"Mom?" Josslyn called out as she and Michael walked into the living room.
Carly beamed when she came downstairs. "Hey Josslyn. How was practice?"
The teen swallowed, flush heating up her cheeks. "It was good. Is Jonah asleep?"
Her mom raised a brow at that. "He is. I just put him down for a nap. What's going on?
Josslyn looked behind her at Michael before she turned to her mom. "I think I might be bisexual." She blurted out. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and let go of Michael's hand. "I kissed Clarissa like I was supposed to for that scene in the play but I really enjoyed it. I just...figured I'd tell you."
Carly laughed and shook her head in amusement. "So you finally figured it out, huh?"
Josslyn furrowed her brow at that and looked back at Michael once more who was hiding a slight smile. "What do you mean by that?" She asked in confusion, voice soft.
Carly stepped forward and touched her daughter's face gently. "Oh honey, I've known you weren't straight since last year when you befriended that Mckayla girl from your group therapy sessions."
The teen blushed shyly at that. "I guess I was really obvious, huh?"
Her mother smiled fondly at her daughter and shook her head. "I mother knows her children, Josslyn. I'm so proud of you for being true to yourself."
Josslyn threw herself into her mother's arms. "I'm really lucky to have you and Michael, you know that?" She mumbled softly as she reached out to pull her brother into the hug as well.
Her brother and mother both laughed at that and hugged her tightly.
