Whew. Okay. After the shit storm that went down last night, spite and lots of liquor has driven me to write a GoT fic because why the fuck not. I have another on the way, so do keep an eye out for it when I'm done fuming over the tragic loss of the Lannister twins.

To clarify before the story begins, this fic will be AU to a degree. I will be inputting scenarios that do not follow true with the books or series, so if you haven't participated in either, then you're fine.

My OC - Scylla Lannister played by the elegant Charlize Theron. I was caught between Amanda Seyfried in terms of who looked more child-like, innocent, and friendly but then I remembered they're Lannisters'.

WARNING - WARNING - WARNING

At some point in this story, there will be bits of incest and rape. If you're familiar with GoT, please be sure to prepare for it when it comes and if it is not something you'd like to read through, I will be putting warnings in the headings and feel free to skip through the chapters to come.

Without further ado, enjoy!

prologue

Casterly Rock

It was a warm summer's evening. The bells rang with pride and joy as another Lannister was welcomed to the world, gold-headed and green eyed, awaiting her praise the moment she was pulled from the womb. Her eldest siblings were troubled by her arrival, not knowing what to prepare for when overhearing the Maesters about some complications with birth. The screaming of their mother rang through the halls of the castle, the three Lannister children waited impatiently to hear that their mother was still in good health. The new babe had been set aside.

Hours had passed. Cersei and Jaime were nearly falling asleep on each other against the stone walls, Tyrion was off in a dark corner, drinking to his livers content. Only six and ten, and they would have to decide whether or not their mother was worth losing after donning two beautiful children and an imp.

Tywin was first to set foot in the birthing chamber after Joanna, his beloved, and their new babe were prepped for visitation. He could not bare to think of a life without her, and looking to the babe in the cradle near her bedside made him all the more proud. A lioness, she truly was.

"You've done well."

Joanna smiled, knowing her husband's form of flattery and compliments came in so little words. "She's beautiful."

"She?"

"Yes, she, my lord husband."

He circled the bedside, sitting gingerly near his wife as he gazed upon the babe with admiration. Tywin was unsure how something so sweet and innocent could be a piece of himself, however the look he directed towards Joanna seemed to answer all of his waning questions and thoughts. Reaching a hand into the crib to stroke the cheek of his new daughter, Tywin hardly noticed that she made any noise. Not like his twins, nor Tyrion. Always loud, up at nearly all hours and the wet nurse had to live in the nursery just to keep them calm.

But this one…she was not fussing nor cooing for that matter. Tywin was sure she had passed until she wiggled around in her swaddle. He dared lift her from her crib, cradling her in his arms, to take much notice of her size.

"She's tiny."

Joanna giggled. "That she is, my sweet."

"Have you a name?" he asked, awaiting for her eyes to flutter open to gaze into the emeralds of his little cub.

"Scylla." she answered kindly, "Her name is Scylla."

Before Tywin to begin to respond, their litter nearly barged the door in their excitement to see the new lion cub. Propriety wasn't of any thought as Cersei, Jaime and Tyrion hopped onto their mother's bedside, curious to see their mother alive but also to glare at the babe their father held so closely.

"She's ugly." Cersei commented, scrunching her nose at the sight.

Tywin snapped, "Watch your tongue, young lady."

Of all his children, Cersei believed to hold claim over their mother. First, she blamed Tyrion for nearly killing his wife, he could not held but agree. In silence. Jaime was a little more forgiving.

"Father, Father can I hold her." Jaime had never sought to be so eager to have another sibling. He thought his excitement died with Tyrion's birth but now, a little babe swaddled in crimson cloaks, being treated as the missing piece their family needed to be whole once more. He swung himself off the bed, walking timidly to his father's front to see the babe, her head of golden hair and sparkling emerald eyes.

Joanna was stroking Cersei's hair, concerningly looking upon Jaime as he handled Scylla with utmost care. It wasn't but a year that she caught her twins doing unspeakable things in the darkness of their bedrooms. She could not help but subject herself to the fear that Jaime might have found a new playmate once Cersei would be married off in due time. Something told her that she would have to worry for her daughters, desperately protecting them from her first son and she could not bare to think what Tywin would do to them if he had ever found out.

Jaime cooed the little babe, swaying her in his arms, speaking upon the beauty of Casterly Rock and all the games to play and how he would always be there for her. At his vow, she could feel her Cersei tense beneath her touch. It wasn't mystery that her sweetling had a jealous streak but after what they had done, Joanna held onto her a little tighter. Twins were meant to be together, never separated and it was just how the world warped around the ailment. Her twins were too close and now that she brought another, one that could potentially rival the beauty of her Cersei made her wish she'd birth a boy. All this talk of incestuous acts and worry made her head spin.

Perhaps it could have been her overthinking or the blood that seeped from between her legs, weighing down the sheets significantly no matter how hard Joanna squeezed her thighs to make the bleeding cease.

Joanna watched her family enjoy the last heir she would ever bring into the world, not wanting to spoil the moment as she slowly expired. But to remember this as her last, happy memory before the darkness overcame her and the blood pooled into the bedding before Tywin could say his goodbye.

Cersei was screaming, accusing the babe of killing her mother. Jaime had tightened his grip on the babe and Tyrion was at his side in case Cersei decided to attack at that very moment.

Tywin bellowed for the Maesters and the nurses, demanding his children be escorted back into their rooms. Before the commotion ensued, Tywin shouted one last time, "Protect Scylla!" The door in front of them had shut with intent, shaking all three Lannister children.

And the once quiet, calm babe started to wail as if she knew her mother had met her end.

Cersei tried clawing Scylla away from Jaime's hold, Tyrion had shoved her back and held her off, doing what little he could until the guards had come to take the twins to their separation chambers, escorting Tyrion back to his own, and fighting with Jaime to take Scylla into the arms clad in armor.

"Don't hurt her!" Tyrion cried out, "Leave her be!"

"Kill her, kill the little monster she murdered my mother!" Cersei was howling at the top of her lungs, "Have her beheaded!"

Jaime was struggling against his own ward, shouting, "Don't you dare touch her! Scylla!"

Each guard had to physical carry the motherless Lannister children back to their rooms, short of locking them in when they refused to behave. Few maidens threatened to not feed them should they not calm down before the feast.

The bells rang for birth; the bells rang for death.

Tywin was left in his solar, isolated from his world crashing. A gentle knock and the wailing of a babe had caught his attention, commanding they enter at once. The wet nurse and his new babe, both were tired and inconsolable.

"Forgive me, my Lord I know you wanted time alone but…but Lady Scylla has no stopped crying for hours now." she sounded exasperated, on her last legs, "I've done everything, she is inconsolable…as if she knows her mother is gone."

His jaw twitched at that last comment.

"Hand her here."

She nodded slow, entering his solar with the swaddled babe who was wailing at the top of her lungs. Scylla was carefully handed over to him, taking her leave with a curtsey and closing the heavy door behind her.

In the moments alone with her, Tywin thought would be it so bad to end the life of the one thing that killed the only woman he loved. It was her wailing that made him produce such thoughts until she started to calm, hardly making a sound now that he held her comfortably against his chest. Those big, emerald eyes looked upon him as if she were begging for life. One she had not lived yet.

What good could come from smothering a babe.

The last piece of Joanna he'd ever have, how could he think to rid of it so quickly.

Scylla cooed once more, Tywin could not fathom life without her. He stroked her little cheek again, leaning forward to kiss her forehead and cradle her for as long as he could.

"I will never let you go." He vowed, never finding it in his memory when he made the same to any other of his children. Joanna could have been smiling down upon them as he spoke, having showed no previous interest in the Gods or the like. Tywin came to this belief when he witnessed her smile for the first time.

It might have been a small grin, or less but in his mind she was smiling at him. At her mother.

"Scylla Lannister, the First of Her Name.." he reiterated the titles she could claim, as his cherished and prized possession. No, not possession, daughter.

"I promise," Tywin whispered, "By the Old Gods and New, I will protect you…for as long as I am able."

With another vow promised to the babe, he placed one more kiss to her forehead, then continued his duties with the babe in tow.

The wet nurse could not pry the babe from her Lord when feeding time came, and to his great reluctance of having her too far, she was fed in his solar to keep his closest eye on. Tywin thought of his vow as a debt that needed repaying, however this one would last a lifetime and he was more than happy (or lack thereof) to be indebted to the babe that gave him a lasting happiness.

And that's the prologue! As aforementioned, the story will be AU to a degree (and by degree I mean Tywin Lannister actually loving something after Joanna passes; the twins and Tyrion being 15-16) because I really want to make this work to the best of my ability without overshadowing too much and writing them far too out of character.
