"Why are you crying?" I asked, alarmed.

"Because I'm stupid!" Penny sobbed, resting her head in her hands.

"That's no reason to cry! One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad!" I said, attempting to ease the weeping women sitting before me. She wanted me to teach her some of the things Leonard was working on so she could impress him, and what I couldn't understand was why. Leonard isn't the type worth impressing.

Penny rubbed the tears from her eyes and set her notebook on the table. I briefly wondered if she was leaving, but my hopes faltered when she started speaking again.

"Okay, look, can we just forget about all this extra stuff and can you just tell me what Leonard does?" she asked less emotionally, waving her arms around.

"Alright," I said, trying to sound gentle for fear of upsetting her again. Like I've said before weepy females make me nervous. I settled myself in my spot next to her, keeping a reasonable distance between us of course.

"Leonard, is attempting to learn why sub-atomic particles move the way they do," I explained slowly, searching her gaze to make sure she stayed with me.

"Really?" she whimpered innocently, "well that doesn't sound to hard." she picked up her notebook again and scribbled something onto it.

"Its not." I reasoned. "That's why Leonard does it."

She looked up, and cast me a angered look for a moment, for a reason of which I still do not understand why. I was simply stating the truth. I do not blame anyone for being less intelligent, or as Woloitz would say, "blondes".

She looked back down at her notebook and then asked, "I just have one question,"

I gestured, letting her know to proceed.

"What exactly are sub-atomic particles?"

"A good question!" I said excitedly, shifting to face her I uncapped my pen.

"Thank you," she beamed.

"For the answer we first must ask ourselves, what is physics?"

"Oh, balls" she groaned resting her head in her hands again.

"it's a warm summer evening in ancient Greece…." I lectured, trying to take it slower this time. Halfway through however, Penny complained of a head ache and went back to her apartment. I retired to my laptop.

Subject returned to apartment only two hours into the lecture. I'm beginning to wonder, if Woloitz actually has a plausible cause for calling the less educated in our society, "blondes".
